Uh oh. I'm seeing SD Golf on my VSGLF channel. Please tell me we aren't losing HD for OT.

I don't get Versus HD so I'm out of luck. Why are they cutting to the horse race so early? The actual race probably is over an hour from actually being run. NBC could probably show the entire first overtime before the race starts.

I do get Versus HD (as part of VSGLF) and it's showing SD golf. Ridiculous, and sad.

Edit: Sorry to see my post is redundant. Way to go NHL, it's only the Conference Finals I suppose. In two weeks I wonder if we will have the same $hit during the Finals.

well they had a chance to win me over again. I actually watched a whole game for the first time this year (move to DISH leaves us without Versus so I haven't seen more than the little bit that was on FSN). It was a great game. Then they cut to Versus. I invest two hours and 45 minutes in a great game then don't get to see the overtime(s), the best part imo. Sure I expected it, NBC couldn't let the NHL run into a stupid horse race (which brings in ratings I'm sure). I hope the NHL will look into other avenues when the Versus deal expires (when is that?). ABC/ESPN would be nice...

Right now, the casual sports fan who happened to find interest in an NHL game is wondering where they might find Versus or they simply moved onto FOX baseball. Sorry for the rant. I love this sport and there is simply nothing better than playoff hockey (outside of OT playoff hockey). Having it booted to channel 608 in SD is a complete embarrassment to Gary Betteman. I sure hope some of the local papers pick up on this.

Again: Mr. Bettman. Please stop this madness in the states. I've been an avid hockey fan since 93-94(And a Center Ice sub). I am really getting dis-interested in the game on TV anymore. Lose us, and you will have empty arenas in the US, and pressure from the owners for a change. You, Mr. Bettman, YOU should make the change before it comes to that being you ARE the commissioner of the NHL.

Gary, You have problem that needs to be solved and you, yes YOU, are the one to solve this problem.

A hockey fan who just HAPPENS to live in the states...Yeah, it sucks.

That was pretty pathetic ... the deciding game goes to overtime and they dump the game!!! If this had been a MLB, NFL or NBA game that would never have happened. Glad I live in Canada! CBC's HD PQ may suck but at least they stick with the game until the end!

Good clean goal to end the game! Go Ottawa!!!

Well, despite the fact that I'm a little upset with the Peacock right now, I do appreciate the audio work you've done (and will do). Get some sleep, and here's to hoping we have 5.1 tomorrow! And hopefully no pre-mature pre-emptions...

I'm sure there are quite a few Hockey viewers with blue balls right now. The ones who have NBC but not Versus on their system.
I know that the NHL has allowed this to happen & is fully to blame but there's not alot to be said for a network that would even remotely consider not showing any game to it's conclusion.

I believe that was NBC's call to switch it. I'm sure the NHL is just as upset as everyone else. This just goes to show how little hockey is respected in this country. Everyone can complain all they want but what we need is to make the game more popular again to increase viewership so things like this don't happen. But I believe it is going to be an uphill battle I'm sorry to say.

So Saturday NBC dumps hockey for the pre-horse race chat. (the race started an hour later)
Sunday the local station will show a baseball game.
If we are lucky we may see the last few minutes of hockey.
Last summer the station scheduled a baseball game over a NASCAR race, but received enough protests to reschedule to another game.

I recorded the game only to find out they wouldn't show OT. It really sucks being a fan of such a marginalized sport. There's a replay scheduled on UHD tonight, anyone know if they'll show the OT on that one?

Well I set the UHD replay to record with an hour padding... hopefully the entire game is on. Seems logical since the coverage continued... but seeing as how nothing seems to go right with NHL coverage, it wouldn't surprise me if only regulation was replayed.
