Please show me your 18" cube subs

Fairly limited on space and looking to replace an SVS 20-31 PC+. I did some reading last nite and saw some good things about the AV12-H and AV15-H and saw one link to a 18" cube setup, but I'm hoping there are others. I'm also intrigued by the Rythmik stuff like the F12SE, although I'm worried if something like that will have any output compared to my ported SVS.

To be honest with you (and don't take this the wrong way), I was trying not to go overboard here and research the hell out of this project (like I normally tend to do). With 50 hours work weeks, kids, grad classes, etc, I was hoping just to find a nice, proven design to go off of. I could probably go a few inches higher to give more air size, but I don't know if that would throw off the cube look or not.

My usage is 60/40 HT and music/games. I don't need to constantly rattle the house, but its fun to feel the room shake on some movie scenes here and there.

Thanks in advance,
Aaron

Edit to Clarify: Looking for 18" x 18" x 18" box, not a cube sub with a 18" driver. Title might have been a little confusing, sorry.

Thanks for the pics. Love the piano gloss, but unfortunately, I only have around 20" from the wall to the console table, so that 26" just ain't gonna fit.

DD or Jimmy, do either of you still happen to have your designs or cut lists around?

Both of yours look like sealed boxes. Are you happy with the performance for HT and movies?

dual mach5 ixl 18's. they were in a room 14x26x7 feet high. they kicked the crap out of the room. never failed to impress me. the boxes are 24x24x12. you could always make them smaller and deeper to fit your needs. those are the inside dimensions of the box btw.

mike

edit. i am almost positive the size was 24x24. that or 22x22x12

EP2500.

1 sub per channel.
I didnt even have a chance to eq them or use a linkwitz either. I dont think you could get any better value than the Mach 5 series, At least here in Canada anyway.

Happy? Ecstatic.

The cut list is NEO Dans easy button, shrunk down to 21.5" external dimensions.

I am guessing that is the RS 3 way dayton center channel correct at htguide? If it is how do you like it and are those TMWW speakers?

I really like those as well.
So much, that I will probably will not be building speakers again.
Very transparent, staging, everything is very good!
They are the Seas version with the DM crossovers.

Blasphemy!

Seriously though, that's a pretty resounding recommendation from someone in DIY! Which speakers was the comment about? The RS 3 way, TMWW, or both? Do you have a build thread or link on the modifications you mentioned (Seas version with DM crossover)?

Yes mine is sealed. It really sounds great in my large, tall, open room. I will post my REW results when I get all the hardware for that next week.

I used (4) - 24" x 48" sheets of 3/4" MDF due to vehicle size limitations, so I had a bunch of waste.

I modeled it in SketchUp, but don't see a way to attach the file, the format isn't allowed.

Cheers,
Jim

I hired out the MDF work, because for not a lot of money, I got better quality and no MDF buggers!

Wow I have never had MDF violate me like that! I mean I've gotten the MDF boogers but that's where I draw the line!
