It did solve the flicker eventually. Took a few hours, and still flickered occasionally even in high lamp mode. The problem came back a few times after this though, and I had to go through the process every time so I decided to get a new lamp. Now things are great. Got a nice contrast and brightness boost =)

Harmony Remote Discrete Focus/Zoom codes

Don't know if there are many Harmony remote users here. I was surprised when I did a search and didn't find any info on accessing the discrete IR codes for Focus & Zoom (Zoom and Focus with any image on the screen. Not just the green cross-hatches) through my Harmony 880.

I passed on the IR codes in this thread to Logitech and they added them to my account for testing. They worked fine so Logitech will be pushing them into their database for all users to access. Should happen in the next business day or two.

Cool!

Now if they had a discrete code for anamorphic mode would be nice.
I hate that menu jumping thru the hoops way of making it happen.

Thank you! That is very nice of you. I'm about to program a 880 for it and your addition will be very useful as I use the zoom function a lot.

They do, but you need to program it into a universal remote (not on the JVC/Pioneer remote).

From the first post in this thread.

Your RS2's main version must be 229 for these commands to work. There is no way to upgrade.

New RS-232 commands:

V-Stretch ON: 21 89 01 5653 31 0A
V-Stretch OFF: 21 89 01 5653 30 0A

New IR commands:

V-Stretch ON: 0000 006C 0001 0012 0142 00A2 0013 003D 0013 003D 0013 0013 0013 0013 0013 003D 0013 003D 0013 003D 0013 0013 0013 003D 0013 003D 0013 0013 0013 0013 0013 0013 0013 003D 0013 0013 0013 0013 0013 033F 0013 003D

V-Stretch OFF: 0000 006C 0001 0012 0142 00A2 0013 003D 0013 003D 0013 0013 0013 0013 0013 003D 0013 003D 0013 003D 0013 0013 0013 0013 0013 0013 0013 003D 0013 0013 0013 0013 0013 003D 0013 0013 0013 0013 0013 033F 0013 003D"

What this means is that if you have a later build of the RS2, like the RS2X instead of the original RS2U, these codes for V-Stretch ON/Off will work without having to do menu macros.
I don't have the RS2X mentioned so I didn't give these to Logitech. If you do, you can go to their support forums (http://forums.logitech.com/t5/Harmon...-p/programming) and request to have these added. Find one of the official Logitech guys (*Harmony screen names) and PM them. You'll need to give them your Harmony login and the IR codes above.

I've been meaning to do that myself. I live in probably the worst area of the states for dust so I will check my filter and report back.

I looked at mine at 1000 hours. I do this with all lamps and projectors I own.
This was the best I've seen. It was absolutely spotless.

I usually blow away any dust from internal lens and fan. When I removed the lamp it was as clean as a Lab. I didn't bother cleaning and replaced everything.

I wouldn't bother looking until you replace the lamp.

Just a question. Usually I blow out the lens, fan and lamp. Previously I have had DLP's and they have been really dusty around the fan. On DLP's it doesn't matter if you blow clean compressed air (sealed DLP units). Is this the same with DILA???

I wouldn't want to blow dust on the DILA itself. Are they sealed units like DLP?

Anyone else having any luck getting the new IR codes from Logitech? I have updated my remote (and even added a 2nd projector device to check "buttons") but I still do not see the new zoom and focus functions.

Thanks again... I use the zoom method for CIH so having a direct zoom and focus button is huge.

Does anyone have the manual handy? Are direct zoom and focus codes in the RS232 command set?

Motion blur.

During scenes with most any kind of movement I see bluriness but my son does not. Am I stricken? Any test scenes I can run?

I went to the eye doc today and my vision is fine. I added a little ambient light in my bat cave and it did not help. Does using a dark screen make it worse?

I get it when somebody or something moves at almost any speed.

Do you guys have the pink foam packed around the lens? Without it you will get a shaking of the image on loud/bass passages.

I am in the same camp. Some (small?) percent of viewers have complained of motion blur issues with this pj. In my case it became less of an issue over time.

The openning car chase scene in Quantum of Solace was a nightmare for me.

I don't think I can get past it. Is it the technology that does it to me?

Just heard back. They have not yet been pushed to the general DB. May take a few more days. He's going to PM me when they are ready.

I guess I jumped the gun a little bit

There were a couple threads on JVC motion blur in the last couple months.

I got support to push the codes to me (asked a few days ago), but I guess not everyone. I told them I had a FPJ1.

Drewski11, are you using yours with a harmony remote? If so, did you have to use a specific inter-key delay to get zoom to work while holding down you "zoom" button? I have tried 100, 200, and 300ms, and none of them work (by work , I mean I cannot get a continuous zoom, but just 1 step).

Does the JVC RS20 and RS25 have this problem to? Or is it just the previous models that have issues with motion blur?
