WOW Moving Pictures!

If I remember correctly, WFLD is ready to go, they're just waiting for the HD feed from the network to be turned on.
As for WPWR, the dishes are in place, but they're still waiting for some additional equipment to be delivered. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. Andy |

WFLD Status
To All:
The HD Splicer is on-line and operational at WFLD as of August 29th, so when FOX Network sends out a true HD/720P signal, it will pass through with Dolby 5.1 audio if the show contains 5.1 audio. I don't know which network programming is in true 720P with 5.1 audio and which is still being upconverted. There could be upconverted video with 5.1 audio, native 720P with 2/0 audio, native 720P with 5.1 audio. All dependent on the program's producer. The WPWR STL dish is still a few weeks away along with some HD wiring infrastructure to go in at the studio to pass the UPN Network feed thru to the transmitter.

Oooo... Dolby Digital during Big Momma's House. Unfortunately there seems to be a crackling noise coming from the left rear surround speaker.

Well, at least there will be more UPN-HD to watch when WPWR-DT finally does go HD. I guess it's a race to see if they get the STL dish up before the October 8th premiere of Enterprise. ![]() |

Dish is scheduled to be put up on Thursday 9/9/04, weather & WIND permitting. Then we'll complete the HD wiring to get the HD network signals out to you.

WPWR-DT (our UPN affiliate) is currently upconverting everything to 1080i. A previous post noted that the satellite link was supposed to be installed today, and HD programming is supposed to go active by the end of the month.
As for 5.1, I asked Bob the same question on the chicagoavforum.com board. As soon as I get a response I'll post it here (if Bob doesn't beat me to it).
