Didn't find any previous posts about rcn so i thought i'd start one with my experiences.

My personal experience is also with being new to hdtv, using my new WinTv-HVR 1800 on my pc, using qam, so I don't know if what i'm receiving is normal or i'm just lucky..

Anyway, as far as the un-encrypted channels go on rcn, i'm getting the local hd's (nbc, pbs, abc, cbs, fox) and as well I am also getting HGTV, Tnt, Espn2, Comcast SportsNet, and national Geographic's hd channels. I also seem to be getting the music choice channels though qam, but with the quick testing i was doing (while labeling the channels in wintv) not all of them displayed video, not that there's a whole bunch to see anyway

(i figured labeling this as philadelphia was the best bet even though i'm living in Drexel Hill personally) Sorry if I didn't do this right or anything, I thought it was interesting i was getting more than the locals in hd
