Yeah, that price seems too good to be true. Is the UK release region free?

It's being released by Warners in UK? If so, I might consider that as the link shows a typical Warner box and not a tin hardcase.

Even though it's Warners and they shirk HD audio wherever they can, I've pre-ordered this from HMV anyway.

All Warner releases in all countries are region-free/all-region.

I've already got the HD-DVD BOB set but have pre-ordered the BD set from HMV. For £35 I guessed it was worth a double dip. I expect the DTS MA to be a slight step up from the DTS HD (let's hope that it's 7.1), but as for PQ the BD set will have to go some to beat the HD-DVDs. Let's hope that they don't mess around with DNR because although the HD-DVDs had quite a bit of grain on them they were sharp and three dimensional to a tee! The BD will however have PIP and other extras that the HD-DVD doesn't have, so its for those that I'm primarily double-dipping.

I don't think that the UK release will be a straight port, seeing as it's coming from a different distributor than the US version. If Warners are in a good mood we'll get lossless audio, but I'd bet money that it'll be TrueHD.

Very glad I sold my SD version a few months ago for the same price I bought it for. This is my most anticipated release this year by far.

Quite happy not to bother importing the US release, £34.99 for the UK set is brilliant.

I would love to buy BD BoB.......but I won't! I absolutely think this is one of the best Series ..or shows, movies, whatever,,I have ever seen...
My regret is having a 30% hearing loss in one ear....I rely heavily on Sub-Titles......and,much to my regret,English is not an option...
Go figure that one out...

Do you mean English is not an option for you? Because the DVDs had CC for the hearing impaired, and I would be surprised of these did not.

LOL some of you guys are funny. Do you really need it that bad that you need to watch your DVD just to "hold off" until the BD is released?

jk I understand how tense the anticipation build up is. But it's kind of hilarious how addictive we sound when talking about BD's.

I think he was saying he was not going to watch BoB again until the Blu-Ray came out.

Which makes sense if you want a fresh experience for the Blu-Ray release.

Does anyone else think this is the perfect time for Paramount to put out Saving Private Ryan.. The same week? This year is also the movie's 10th anniversary.

Man I hated that movie, nothing even close to the quality of SPR.

Yeah that movie blew pretty hard. Everyone wanted a SPR style movie in the Pacific theater... instead they got that sappy tripe and hand wringing.

SPR would be a great complementary release to BoB, most definitely.

Maybe around Pearl Harbor this year? As I said before it would also be the 10th anniversary for the movie. It doesn't sound any more perfect to me.

I'd actually prefer to see the Thin Red Line, while SPR had some great action scenes, the rest of the movie was pretty thin... just my opinion though

Either way, I'm still drooling at the prospect of BOB on BR... and of course the new series, the Pacific, or whatever they're currently calling it.

They're not selectable subtitles. You have to turn on the CC function on your TV.

Warner's current 30% off code works. $55 with free shipping. Amazing deal. Was soooo close to buying the import HDDVD set a few months back for 300% more.
