A drive-in for my home theater

Well, it was a weekend's work but its about 95% over. Just some gluing and I'm done.

I was inspired by my son's diorama and I thought to myself that I should make something just as fun and cool for my ht room.

So I did.

This is the smallest drive-in theater I've created (the other being 165") and it revolves around a freecycle "broken" portable 7" dvd player. When I mean broken I mean loose wires- its fully functional.

The stage is home depot mdf 36x48 board, cut down to about 24x21. The "cars" are cheap 2" chinese knock-offs from ebay. The trees and lawn are from Michael's. The total cost is under $50.00. Eventually, this will be placed on my coffee table in my ht room. The dvd player is cool in that it has an optical audio and video out and video in so I can actually watch the movie that's being projected on the drive-in or watch and hear what's playing on the drive-in

dioramas rule

Wow - very inspired by your efforts there. have a friend who would die for that. Is it primarily for the kiddos?

Actually, I need one so I can have a viewer for video when I don't want the projector running. So it actually kills two birds with one stone. The Cars figurines were for fun (and a sense of scale).

Drive-In speakers is a neat idea and could conceivably be done pretty easily with headphones.

Love the OP's idea btw...I can't see the pictures but what I see in my head is cool.
