Will get Cloverfield and There Will Be Blood. Have Face/Off and Next already on HD DVD.

Bee Movie I heard was poop.

Anyone know if these will carry a new release price or a catalog price? Speaking of Cloverfield and TWBB, of course. I'm guessing new release, but was just wondering what everyone thought.

You are joking right?? Cloverfield was an absolute piece of trash...by far one of the worst movies I have see...it ranks up there with Halloween H20, Blairwitch, and the remake of Amityville

I really wanna see a Sweeney Todd announcement...There will be blood is a blind buy for me on BR, and bee movie kinda lost its edge when they decided not to release it on HDDVD...

How about a Rocky Horror, or some more anime or even better Sin City...OH wait, give me a star wars and lord of the ring announcement....GIVE ME THAT!!

My sixth sense says the blu-ray version of Face/Off will be encoded using MPEG-4 AVC with no DNR and will feature LPCM audio. The HD DVD was heavily DNR-ed.

Looking at Paramount's track record, I will be quite surprised if they include lossless audio. It would be great if they worked towards that, but I am not expecting it with their first few titles since their return to Blu-ray support.

Bee movie is a decent movie for kids. My kids have watched it about 20 times since it came out. It isn't bad but I don't think it is as good as cars.

Maybe. Just in case, I suggest that everyone boycott Iron Man this week. And I'm not just saying that because I want a really good seat.

Cloverfield was a total trash!
I'll like Face Off though; good thing I didn't buy it on HD DVD.

WOOOO!! There Will Be Blood... thank God!! I've seen it twice now, and as good as it was the first time, I enjoyed it even more the second time. The near 3 hour running time just flew by, I was so engrossed. I can't wait to re-watch it again on Blu!

There Will Be Blood for me. As if 6/3 wasn't packed enough as it is... Ninja Gaiden II on the console front, Dirty Harry box on the BD front. Poor wallet!

It was not total trash. They made a monster movie and dropped the ball on the monster design.

It could have been something, because behind all that shaky(awesome) camerawork is a really good idea that came close, but didn't quite get there.

If it's a Lossless track you will both change your tune. The sound is amazing on Cloverfield. Plus it's only around 47 minutes long.

I rented the sd version of Bee Movie last weekend and didn't like it very much, so I will pass on the Bluray. Cloverfield is a definite buy though.

Home Theater Forum has specs:

http://www.hometheaterforum.com/htf/...ease-here.html

Not sure on Next and Face/Off, but all the others have English 5.1 Dolby TrueHD, so yes to the lossless question.

Right before their defection, Paramount had stated that their Blu-ray releases, starting with Blades of Glory, would include lossless audio, if I'm remembering correctly. Hopefully they haven't forgotten that.

That is a very pleasant surprise! I was skeptical but if this unofficial info is verified, I will be happy. They did initially mention a lossless track for Beowulf that didn't end up on the final disc, but I hope that they have learned their lesson and this time it will stick with this first batch of titles. They are deserving of TrueHD audio.

The official information does not mention it at all.

A post on the forum claims that a reliable source indicated that there will be TrueHD tracks.

Oh. A friend of a friend, so to speak.

I'll wait for official specs before I pop the cork. But TrueHD seems to make sense.

I just hope they don't ask for their same old prices.Even though they bring the extras in HD, I'm not interested in paying $30 for Cloverfield. Or TTWBB(they should give me a discount on the BD for paying for that piss-poor packaging).

I was kind of hoping that Paramount would have a huge Blu-ray comeback where they release all the titles that were previously available on Blu/HD in one day.

Wouldn't that be like totally awesome?!?!

+1

But the announcement definitely has me excited about what the future holds now...the holiday season should be awesome - we'll probably all be buying more BR discs than we'll have time to watch, unlike right now where I'm already in "reruns" with my measely 20.
