I would love to own the original Omen. The remake just doesn't do it for me and my needs.

I find them kinda cheezy fun, the second one has some fun "kills" and a cast of Hollywood vets willing to sully their reputations; the third is saved by Sam Niel giving it his all.

Oh no. A boxset I don't want. Well there had to be one.

And just to add - Fox keeps releasing Tetralogies, but they still don't get it right. I guess DNR free Blade Runner-style remasters take a while.

Crap, I don't want the remake. I hope these are being released individually. Good thing they're including the extras though.

I'm kind of surprised they didn't include the fourth one that was made for cable (though I don't want that one either), unless they just don't have an HD master for it.

Pretty expensive considering the SD version is 5 movies and 39.99 MSRP (and currently $19.99 at amazon)

Even though the 4th one is horrible, I refuse to buy a box set that isn't all of the movies currently available.

You guys may be in luck. DVD Empire is showing a separate version of the original 1976 film:

It's Fox, so unless we hear otherwise (and given DVD Empire's track record on this), it should be DTS-HD:MA.

Awesome, I have the Omen boxset on SD DVD and would gladly upgrade to BLU-RAY for this. Some of my favorite movies.

Well, if you don't mind lossy audio and 480i, go for it.

oh well i meant how many blu-rays have a MSRP 3.25x the DVD? and on top of that actually give you less? i can't think of any blu rays whose MSRP are close to 3.25x the MSRP of the DVD counterpart.

sorry i meant expensive in that sense

Why such crappy extras for 2&3? I can't buy this set with such bad extras for $129.

I'll definitely buy this! Actually, after what Fox just did with their war titles, I'll wait to read reviews first to be sure that they haven't DVNR'd these and robbed them of resolution. The first 3 films are very grainy and this is a part of their look, texture and atmosphere. I don't want them to look any different than they always have.

I admit I may hold out for a sale at $129, those sequels are fun, but not $35 movies IMO ($100 list would have been more realistic).

I don't think Warner would gouge that deep for an Exorcist box.

Has this set been pushed back to October 7th? I have it ordered through Borders.com and it hasn't shipped -- then I see highdefdigest has the date next month!?! Anybody hear anything?

I had noticed that the disc with just the first movie was to be released on the 7th, with the set coming earlier. Either the earlier date was an error, or they decided later to release them both on October 7th.

These are arriving to reviewers today and it looks very, very bad.

All 4 films are presented on 4 BD50's. The case itself is a flimsy cardboard with the discs being held in by foam. Mine arrived smashed as its incredibly flimsy and cheap.

A picture I took:

The case is bigger then a normal BD case (I used Indiana for comparison)

Just a word of warning to those that may want to cancel and order the Individual BD release of the first film instead.

Omen II and II only have a Commentary and Trailer.

I'll pass on the collection (which I own on DVD) but I might get the original, there's no rush!
