I'd be replacing the Eraser laserdisc that had laserrot. Should have know that the movie Eraser would be erased on LD!

Oh, yeah I remember reading about that on the laserdisc database site, low numbers man that has to suck when you read down the list of “Laserrot” offenders I had only one brand new THX Laserdisc of Dante’s Peak and noticed “Laserrot” on side A reported it and sent the disc back and talked to THX about and got free THX baseball cap now how about that.

Why is that? Warner isn't anti-lossless, they're just consistently inconsistent. In recent months we've gotten Twister, the Dirty Harry films, Batman Begins, 10,000 BC, August Rush, The Brave One, I Am Legend, In the Valley of Elah, Justice League, Natural Born Killers, One Missed Call, P.S. I Love You, and V for Vendetta. In the coming months, we've got announcements for The Lost Boys, Beetlejuice (BEETLEJUICE!!!!), Perfect Storm (despite an announcement to the contrary) and a few others. Do Warner need to be better? Absolutely. Are they the demon seed people make them out to be? Not really. But I agree that they should just go TrueHD across the board and I'm at a loss as to why something like P.S. I Love You scores lossless but Fool's Gold doesn't. Or the need to use TrueHD on The Lost Boys but not on the new sequel.

Based on their history, this would be my prediction:
Every Which Way But Loose: TrueHD
The Gauntlet: TrueHD (they loves their Clint- I'd be surprised if Pale Rider also didn't have TrueHD)
Eraser: TrueHD
Outbreak: TrueHD
Under Siege 2: Dolby Digital 5.1.

There's a lot wrong with Outbreak. That DVD came out in May of 1997. It's a very old transfer with a 384k Dolby Digital 5.1 track. Have you watched any of the launch era DVDs again lately?

It's been out for almost two years. No need to try and search out the HD-DVD... any store should carry the BD.

Eraser, Outbreak and The Gauntlet all interest me...Particularly The Gauntlet which i think is under appreciated as far as Eastwood movies go.

I think Warner should go for DTS - HD Master Audio on all of their releases....At the moment i don't have a receiver with HDMI in so with DTS HD i get the core 1.5mbp/s audio....Much better for me and i'd rather have dts on all the releases.

Why not Dolby TrueHD? Both are lossless.

As he mentioned, for the 1.5mbps core in DTS-HD:MA for those without HDMI or players/receivers that can decode it.

Under Siege 2 is campy GREATNESS! Eric Bogosian was so over the top, Everett McGill was great, a hot little jailbait Katherine Heigl, tons of funny lines - Yeah, right! I faked my own death and hijacked a passenger train because I care about who you're f....ing...

My LD of Eraser has very minimal rot, but damn...my copy of Under Siege 2 is essentially unplayable. One of the worst rotters ever out of Sony DADC USA.

Exactly!!!!

No, you can't take this one too seriously, if you do, you are sure to be disappointed.

What you can take away from this film is that it's got some great kick-butt scenes with Seagal, along with an over the top villian in Bogosian, humorous throw away lines and even back then Katherine Heigl was a cutie!!

Can't wait for this release but like everyone else, i'm praying for lossless audio!

I want an Under Siege 2 pack. Eraser is a dump bin buy for me during a drought.

Well, if you remember, back in the early days of DVD, Warner used to remix/remaster almost everything they released for 5.1 (Unforgiven, Passenger 57, Beetlejuice, Purple Rain, Point of No Return). Eventually, they started doing this less and less, but Clint movies always got impressive remixes, even when other movies no longer were. I think they tend to treat his films very well and better than they do a lot of similar films from the same era.

that is true, Clint is a big part of WB's bread and butter so to say, all I know is that I enjoy the treatment very much so

You've got a serious attitude problem, pal. Where the **** did I mention lossless audio? THE OUTBREAK DVD IS 10 YEARS OLD AND LOOKS LIKE CRAP, SO I WANT TO REPLACE IT WITH THE HIGH DEFINITION BLU-RAY VERSION. Numpty.

Curiously, I couldn't find any of these on the WHV Web site for pre-order. If they are coming on 9/2, I'd think they would want them up quickly.

Then again, today was the first day (been looking for the past week or so) that Pushing Daisies Season 1 in Blu was on the WHV site.

Soon as Under Siege 2 shows there, I'll probably run up another order.

Pushing Daisies has been on every time I have check for the past month or so....I would give it some time for them to add them to the site, but you will probably see them any day now.

My guess would be 25s since none of those movies have any previously produced supplements. They'll most likely be movie-only with maybe a trailer.

I have the Under Siege 2 HD DVD, but I will say that this title is far from popular. Everyone else I know thinks it's total garbage, but it's a guilty pleasure for me. Lossless would be nice and all, but I could understand if Warners didn't think this title was worth the extra time and money to put anything beyond a minimal effort. It's not The Godfather.

Pushing Daisies had been up for preorder for $22.95 on DVD... but it wasn't until I looked before my earlier post that it finally was up for preorder on Blu ray for $29.95. Not sure what the delay was, or if it had been up and then taken down and then put back or what.
