Homcom, you continue to do agreat service for us, thank you!

Nice, no Joe Buck for my Birds first game.
I do like Troy alot though, and that's hard to say since he was a stinkin cowboy.

Your welcome. A big thanks also goes to J.P. Kirby for the great maps.

If anyone has any comments or suggestions to make the weekly coverage map threads better or for the threads I will be putting together for the games like last year, please let me know.

This may be a dumb question, but shouldn't there be a blackout over detroit for the CBS early game?

Now we need WHTV to go HD and Lansing's CW to get a separate transmitter so it isn't a digital sub.

no, as Detroit is playing away - same reason there's a Fox 1:00pm game in NYC, even thought NY Jets are playing at the same time - Jets at Miami.

No, there is no blackout of CBS games this week. Every market will see a 1 PM CBS game. This is an exception to the rule due to CBS having the US Open instead of 4 PM games.

Anyway that rule only applies to the home team not the road team, thus it would be Atlanta not Detroit blackedout in your example.

Markets with the home team playing on CBS will not see an early FOX game in accordance with the black out rules. Those markets are Miami, Boston, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, and Nashville.

It's embarrassing that the San Diego Chargers can't even carry the LA market in week one.

Thank goodness for Sunday Ticket.

I agree.
There aren't many 1:00 games that look to be all that competitive either.
"But that's why they play the game".
Maybe we'll get lucky and have some college-like upsets (let's go browns)

For those of you wondering, the Saints home opener vs. Tampa Bay will be played as scheduled.

CFB like upsets in the NFL I don't know about that. I am just glad football is starting up again but I personally prefer college ball to the NFL.

In the Boston area which is an area that really could careless about CFB or any college sport for that matter. If it isn't the RS, Pats , and I guerss the Celrics now after winning this Spring people around here don't care.

Doug Flutie actually got me going big time into CFB before that I just watched the big games. I also spent 5 years in Houston and 1 in Atlanta so that also pushed me even more towards CFB.

That is all I do on Saturdays is watch football and told everyone I know that don't include in any plans from late Aug till end of January. I met my wife 18 years ago and told her flat out that this what I do on Saturdays and if you can deal with it great if not I understand and you should move on. The funny thing is she didn't realize I meant it and every once in a while she would ask me to go do this and that and I would say no but will do it on a Sunday which she won't give up because she loves the NFL.

In the end it works out she respects how much I enjoy it and we watch football on Sunday's together unless she goes to the Pats game which she has season tickets for.

Could we please keep this thread somewhat on topic, dealing with the TV, specifically the HDTV aspects of this week's NFL coverage.

I can't believe CBS is sending the A team to Miami (and I'm a Dolphins fan). Guess they heard me when I said there would be an upset

Also nice to have confirmation that all CBS games are in HD.

Bummer don't get to see DAL/CLE in NY at 4:00.

What is the area shaded in Alabama for the 1:00 FOX game that says "TBA by audience vote". Is this something new?

The Chargers can't carry anything which is why they won't be a San Diego team within the next few years.
