AC/DC:No Bull - The Directors Cut

Anyone know what audio format this concert will be in? Uncompressed PCM? Dolby TrueHD? DTS MA?

The lossless 5.1 track is 96kHz/24-bit TrueHD, and the 2.0 track is 96kHz/24-bit PCM.

According to Mel, it also has a 5.1 PCM track. My info came from the Sony BMG site. While the site was never wrong before, I have more trust in Mel's sighting.

As for people's problem with TrueHD, that's another issue to address.

There's obviously something better than lossless out there. Who the hell knows? I'd love to hear some details over why TrueHD is suddenly a bad thing.

Well, my copy has stereo PCM and 5.1 DTHD - both 96kHz/24-bit.

yea, I'd take a 5.1 24/96 track over a 2.0 24/96 track anyday.

Some people seem to think that the whole TrueHD thing can't be lossless because it's compressed. I think the tin foil hat is blocking their ears.

I would like to know the same thing. There are so many ways the audio could have been remixed, so the result ought to be interesting. I think the Donington release sounds great and about as good as I could have hoped for.

the uncompressed pcm track is 2.0. so there is confusion on the back cover. i'm listening to the truehd track right now and it sounds very good.

I'm listening to Family Jewels Disc One right now.

I guess as a 43 year old male technology will never change the music or discs I grew up with..

Dang, I wish they could make Bon come alive in HD.

There is no better tune than "Jail Break" and the video for this song.

I guess Family Jewels Disc One is too much even for the best of Engineers and the cameras of the day.

Dang I miss Bon.

Bon Scott had a smoothness to his voice that Brian Johnson couldn't dream of replicating. That being said, I think Brian's voice better suits the nature of AC/DC's more over-the-top shows.

I picked this up today. Video quality wise it isn't that good at all. Lots of grain floating around. Looks a little soft too. Its not horrible or anything like that. I have this on regular DVD but can't remember the video quality on it. I imagine the Blu-ray version is better. Sound quality wise is good. Just don't go into it expecting to be blown away by video quality. I'll let you guys see what you think. Time to wait for Stiff Upper Lip.

It's all about the sound for me. Besides, do you really wanna see Angus crystal clear?! BTW, No Bull was on VH1 classics last night and I caught parts of it; if anything, this should be a good companion piece to the first Blu AC/DC release.

AC/DC No Bull Review

I'm a really big fan of the Live at Donnigton disc, and while fairly grainy, it provided an excellent picture. Unfortunately I cannot say the same about NO BULL. While the audio is terrific and the set list is far better than that found on the other disc, the video is very disappointing. The bitrate rarely went over 20 mb/s and hit 30 mb/s very rarely and hovering in the mid to low teens, as low as 8 at times. Here are some pics I got off my HTPC. The first 2 shots are from "Cover you in Oil", a bonus song encoded in VC-1.

Edit: I only skipped through a few songs before, but some of the latter ones like Highway to hell look a bit better than earlier tracks. Also, shots like #5 used SD cameras which were upconverted (I just noticed the little blurb on the back of the case) Also, the last 5 pics were to big to upload so they're Jpegs and couldn t provide the preview, sorry.
