That is definitely a B region logo on the back.

I have AnyDVD so region codes don't bother me. How much would that be in dollars from axelmusic?

In google search just type 249.95 DKK to US dollars.

I'm scared of what Disney's domestic release would look like, let alone this overseas offering. I saw the Miramax promo on "Smart People" yesterday and they actually upconverted what looks like a VHS pan & scan master with black bars on the sides for a couple movies. That and the ever-wonderful Gangs of New York intercut with amazing-quality footage like Kill Bill...

are there any known cuts? like for example

"Although uncut in UK cinemas, the video versions were all reframed to remove the sight of the needle piercing John Travolta's arm. This reframed version is the one which was also shown on network TV (BBC 2)."

Just gone through the motions of buying this and it comes out at Ł33 (GBP) which is a bit too much for one movie.

I'll wait for a UK/US release and would expect to pay half that.

The HD version of Pulp that was running around Showtime about a year ago was phenominal. As good as I've seen on a broadcast flick of it's era. INK-like blacks, tons of color and detail. So near perfect elements are available.

Yes, the 2.35:1 HD transfer of Pulpshown on cable was glorious. Absolutely stunning.

The cropped version on HBO was a joke.

But will it work in most of the players over here?

You mean a movie from the Dark Ages- a.k.a. the fabled 1990s- can actually look GOOD??? Who would've thought!!!

*If this type of talk isn't allowed please just delete my post or PM me and I'll remove it. I feel like it's relevant since nobody actually has the disc yet. I am planning to order the disc as soon as I work out some issues I'm having with AxelMusic so no worries on that front.*

Well, the "scene" got ahold of this title and released a 720p rip. I downloaded part of it and took some screenshots with VLC. Remember this is not from the actual disc (I imagine that they compressed it) but it should give everybody an idea on how the real deal will look.

Some good news is that it is 2:35:1 and the disc may come with English subs.

Did anyone ever find out if it is region free. I'd like to import this to the U.S. since it's not available here.

The 720p rip looks great, but has anyone gotten the disc and/or had a chance to confirm enforced regions?

Holy crap, looks awesome! I can't wait to get my hands on a Blu copy. I think I'll try to wait for a North American release, but boy is it tempting to order this.

Good to see a pic of a scene with my man Tim Roth there!

the rip looks indeed good, that to say that it can be done still somewhat better.

regarding that scene, looks like a bit zoomed in as well here?

edit: no, luckily its not, compare here: http://www.schnittberichte.com/schni...cht.php?ID=807

(its a german site, but you only need the pics anyway; actually a good site to see which parts got cut of movies)

I checked out that scene reencode and heard a light hiss of background noise when there no audible sounds. This noise was not present in the DTS from the DVD I compared it to. I checked with headphones though, might not be noticeable with speakers. (The core is extracted from the master audio, so it's not the scene screwing things up).

The video transfer used is definitely the one that has been floating around on HDTV channels for quite some time. Pretty decent looking.

Ordered on the basis of those screencaps!

Wonders of the Internet, I paid $49 USD to a company in Denmark from my couch on the basis of screencaps taken from a rip some teenager probably did.

My second-most expensive import behind the upcoming T2 Japanese LE Blu-ray.

EDIT: Hey look, it's my one-year anniversary of HD-dom!

Just got mine. AVC, DTS-HD MA, works on my A PS3 (BD drive is busy right now but that should be confirmation enough). No English subs but you can turn the European selections off.

EDIT: Yup, definatly region free.
