Vizio VO320E Owners!

I just purchased this TV at WalMart. It turns out my Walmart just got the new models in, so I gave it a go. It's my first HDTV, and I need help configuring/calibrating it.

Can you folks post your settings? I have a digital cable box and the picture on it is absolutely horrible at the moment.

Edit:

I fixed most of the problem. I had a loose connection when hooking up my digital cable, causing it to distort/stretch the image. That is fixed now though, and it is a pretty good quality.

I'm thinking of getting the same set. I haven't seen it in the store yet though, would really like to get a look at the picture it produces before I buy. How are you liking the TV?

I purchased this TV from my local Walmart. The specs seemed great, so I pulled the trigger. Setup was a breeze, I currently have my XBox360 on the first HDMI and my Onkyo BluRay on the second. Once I finish my remodel, Ill be setting up my Onkyo HTIB system.

I was going to pull the trigger on a much larger plasma from Panny, but this deal was too good to pass up. Eventually I will put the Panny in the livingroom and this Vizio will be mounted in my master bedroom.

So far the TV has exceeded my expectations given the price point.

I sent an email to the folks over at cnet requesting a review of the TV, to see how it cuts the mustard, as well as to get their best calibration settings.

Do you have an HD cable box or a standard cable box? It's going to make a HUGE difference

Has anyone noticed a green tint over the game mode? Over the weekend I was playing Street Fighter 4 on the XBox and I noticed that Ken's hair had a faint green tint to it...

Anyone get their hands on some calibration settings?

You guys could pick up a calibration disk (Digital Video Essentials, they make a Blu Ray version) and try calibrating it yourselves and then share the settings. As the set is new, not many people may have it.

You need to have the cable company come and swap out the boxes, it'll be like watching TV for the first time. In the meantime you can hook up any old basic antenna to your RF connection and be able to receive some basic HD Channels over the air, but you won't be able to get any HD Channels via Standard Cable Box.
So yeah call up your cable company and set up an appointment to swap it out.

How do you have the XBox hooked up? It sounds like you have it hooked up by componant cables and one of the color coded cables is in the wrong place. It can be a little difficult when the connections are in a facing down in a 90 degree angle.

Nope, straight HDMI from the XBOX to the TV.

To explain, its not a prevalent green, I just notice a slight faint green tint to the yellow... It seems to me I need to calibrate the set to correct for this.

CNET has commented on this green push on other Vizio's, so I will expect them to mention it and hopefully give an adjustment to minimize it.

Does anyone know the hole positions, I'd like to mount mine
with an articulating or cantilever mount. My Vizio has not yet been
delivered and I'd like to get a head start on the mount.
I've searched the net for hours, maybe its not made like that?

The Vizio is VESA compliant 400 x 200 using M6 x 1.00 screws. The length of the screws will depend on the thickness plate being attached to TV set.

what are your advance settings and color temp? Make sure all advance especially flesh tone and color enhancements are turned off and try toggling through different color temps.

How are you guys still liking this TV? I am thinking of getting it for the bedroom, I can get it for 389.00 shipped. Will 720p matter? The only HDTV I have right now is a Mits 1080p DLP in the living room, our bedroom tvs are still old tube tvs.

For a TV this size, you wont notice the difference between the 720p and the 1080p.

I'm having some problems with this set.

I have it hooked up to my HTPC via HDMI and it doesn't seem to want to use the full screen. I can stretch the horizontal in the TV menu, but it won't let me stretch the vertical. Any ideas?

I reported this sizing problem to Vizio and they sent me screws
to use. No size on package received, though. Nice support by
Vizio.

I bought this set from Walmart last week as a replacement for a Sony CRT in my bedroom. I have to admit, for the price, it is hard to beat. I am connected to a DirecTv HD DVR via HDMI and the picture is excellent.

I just picked this set up at Walmart over the weekend. It's my first HDTV and so far I like it. One gripe I have with it so far though is that there's no aspect button on the remote. You have to go a couple of layers into the settings menu to change the aspect when you want. Not a huge deal, but a little annoying. On the plus side it seems to remember the aspect setting you choose for each channel. I would like to be able to turn off the lighted VIZIO logo on the front too. I guess if it bothers me enough I'll stick some black electrical tape over it.

Picture wise, it looks great with HD material and passable in standard def. I guess that's to be expected with an LCD. The blacks are kind of meh, at least in off angle viewing (maybe all LCD's are like that? This is my first). Straight on they look good, but I'm not expecting CRT or Plasma level blacks from a budget set. One thing I'm pleasantly surprised about is the sound is better than I was expecting. Once I turned off the SRS Surround and tweaked the equalizer it sounds pretty decent. I'm still tweaking the settings and playing around with the TV. I figure I'll give it a fair chance and if I don't like it after a while I can always take it back and get something else. So far though despite a few annoyances, it looks like a solid set.

M8 x 1.25mm Pitch makes sense,
but M6 is almost always 1.00mm pitch.
