Shiva-X2 Build

I posted this thread a while ago, asking about a tempest-x2 build that I designed. Since then I have decided that I would rather have a box of under half the size with 2 PRs and a shiva-x2 for the 3 db loss and slight extension loss.

I got the 3/4" MDF the other day, and am about to start cutting, and before I do, I would like to have you guys review my design first, since it is my first DIY build.

The internal volume will be ~4.5 cu ft, with the driver, prs, and braces in place. The PRs will have 8 discs (making about 1000g I believe) on them. The amp will be the dayton 500w from PE.

Here are some pictures of the finished box and the winisd graph.

Any suggestions? Also, should I line the inside with anything? Like this?

Personally I would add 3 more 3/4" panels. One for the driver side and one for each PR side so that everything will be flush mounted. Not only this but I would consider making the outer baffle for the driver side cover the entire front face. This way it will have NO seams on the front of your enclosure which may or may not make a huge difference depending on how you're finishing it. If you're painting it, it's nice to have no seams because it's difficult to have them be invisible to the naked eye...even with tons of sanding/filling.
Remember to add your hurricane nuts for the driver and pr's before you close up your box.
When you add an 'outer' baffle' to an inner one, try nailing or screwing from the inside so there are no holes to fill on your outer surface.

Looks good. I built two 3.5cft sealed enclosures based on the same driver. It's a nice simple build....

The design looks solid. As stated before , the use of 3 more 3/4 panels for flush mounting will add a more finished look.

I actually just finished building something very similar myself. The primary difference is that we followed Kevin's build sheet which had us using the two layers of mdf on the front, left and right panels. His build didn't suggest that bracing was necessary and, based on using the thing for the past few days, it looks like he was right.

I'm really pleased with my sub so far and I'm confident that you will be too. GL sir.
