Hey Guys,

I'm in Milwaukee as well.

I've been into home theater for the past 8 years or so and have had several cases of both the upgrade and downgrade bugs.

Currently (but not completely set up yet on account of just moving) I have:

Projector: RS50

Screen: Stewart 100" 16:9 Studiotek 130

Speakers: M&K THX s150 LCR, ss150 rears

Sub: SVS PB-12NSD

Electronics: Anthem D2, Lexicon amp, Oppo BDP93.

I'd love to find out what the rest of the Wisconsin faithful have setup. Now that the packers are out of it, I should have some more time for movies. That's my positive spin...

Room has a way to go. That said, I'm just working with the space I have for the time being. I'm not in a position to to build out the room like yours SOWK...although I'd like to.

Yes, the RS50 is mounted and running. So far it looks great with some minor tweaks using calibrations blu-rays. I may have to lure you and that iOne pro over with some good micro brews. For the time being, implementing a few of the suggested out of the box tweaks from several reviews and the forum has given me a very impressive picture.

I'm already tempted to pull out my Xrite DTP-94, but I know calibrating off of that thing will probably do me more harm than good on the RS50 considering it's OOTB picture. I think I just need to enjoy it for a while.

I am still using a Barco 808 Graphics CRT projector and is still providing

a wonderful picture. A Oppo blueray player feeds a HD Fury III which

provides a analog output to the projector (Blueray's look great).

The speaker system consists of Martin Logan Summits combined with Magneplanar

Tympani IV bass panels and a TRW-17 rotary subwoofer. Center channel

is a Martin Logan Logos and rear speakers include 4 Gallo Micro's. Side channels

are Spica TC-50's and two more Gallo Micro's.

The room is completely treated with ASC tube traps, GIK bass traps and other

acoustical devices.

PS Audio Perfectwave dac and transport

Mark Levinson 380S preamp

Audio Research D400 MK II power amp

Arcam AVR600 receiver

Hey rwaaudio,

How do you like the Arcam AVR600? I had one of those for a while but got frustrated with some of it's quirks, especially with the video/hdmi. That said, It was easily the best sounding receiver I've heard.

I've got a AVR350 in a second system that I don't think i'll ever give up.

I purchased the Arcam AVR600 for it's sound only and all I can say is that

it provides superb fidelity. I have had the Arcam for 3 years and its

working perfectly.

Audio is my first priority (audiophile for 50 years)

Keeping audio and video circuits isolated from each other provides

many benefits (lower noise, cleaner sound, etc.)

I have my speakers on one circuit (powered subs), Amp and Preamp on another and Digital components like the Receiver on yet another... I've very paranoid... lol.

Where do you guys buy your equipment? Do you have a local store you frequent, online, Chicago?

For me, I've found that I make most of my purchases online, but would like to find a good local source as dealing with a remote dealer can be a pain.

I buy a lot from the site we are on now... AVSForum.

They have some great prices on a lot of great hardware.

I have had the rotary subwoofer for over 3 years and there is no going

back to conventional subs. My room is 29' long x 19' wide x 11' high and

requires considerably less than its full output for powerful, very low

distortion infra bass, with essentially perfect transient response. Pipe organ, electronic music and a ton of ultra low frequency sounds from movies,

without the fear of over driving is reassuring.

Using the Rotary sub at the right level for the room, does not in any

way make one feel sick, as some have suggested, but gives one a realistic

and exciting foundation for all of the above examples.

Are you running 3d on the 95? I'd love a demo of that!

I'm not unfortunately. Never got into the whole 3D thing. If you have a 3D movie I would be willing to test it.

I'm actually in the process of selling the Sony and will probably replace with the BenQ W7000.
