Anyone own a Sharp Aquos 37" LCD and Harmony 680 Remote?

I'm considering buying a harmony 680 remote for my Sharp Aquos LCD LC-37GB5U TV. I'd like to know from someone who actually has both of these components whether or not Logitech has discrete remotes in their database for each input (meaning an IR code that will set the TV directly to DVI, s-video, etc, rather than the single button that scrolls through them all). According to other posts, these codes do exist, although they are not buttons on the factory remote. That remote only has the single button to scroll through the inputs.

I'd also like to know if harmony has discrete commands for ON and OFF rather than a single that does both.

These discrete codes would be important for marcros such as "turn on all components" or "watch DVD", etc.

I emailed harmony, but just got a generic response about that remote being able to learn any command.

Thanks for any help.

I have the Sharp Aquos 26D7U and the Harmony 676 and their Sharp database has discrete input codes. I'm quite sure they'll use the same codes.

I have the LC-37GB5U and have used a harmony 520 and 720 with no problems. I'm sure, from reading this forum, that the other harmony remotes will work just as well.

You can pair any input with any activity. Rather than "set it to DVI", you'll request it to be set it to input 5, etc. When I "watch TV" the harmony remote automatically sets the TV to input 1. When I "watch DVD", it switches to input 2. I can have a second "watch TV" activity that switches from input 1 (component) to input 4 (hdmi). I think you will be pleased with the ease that it controls the Sharp.

thanks for the reply.

the problem is that i dont have a harmony remote. i have a universal remote mx-700 and their ir database does not have the proper discrete code for input 3. does the harmony programming software allow you to export ir codes (in hex) or can you save the config file in ccf format? if you can do either of these and send me the info, i would appreciate it greatly.

thanks

Sorry to necro this thread, but I am having a similar problem. I have a Shap LC-40C32U and I just got a Harmony 550...for some reason every other discrete input command works but Input 3! Anyone else having this issue or know how to fix it?

Thanks,
D

Sorry to reply to my own post but I got it figured out. I set it to InputVideo3 instead of Input3 and it worked!

Bless you for replying to your own question with the solution. I had the very same problem and searched and searched for weeks for a solution until I found your post.
