***Bitstream Animation's Custom Intros SNEAK PEAK 2 ***

Following the success of CeRT hasn't been easy, and though we planned on success, we didn't know just how big CeRT would become. We're working hard on the next releases for our intros with some new faces and some new changes. Best of all, through your emails, we know you're waiting for more!

So in that light, here's a teaser of another intro we have in the works. Can't say a release date yet but it will be part of the next big revolution of DVD (hint hint).

******CONTEST *******

This home theater is actually based off of a certain member's actual theater. The first person to correctly guess the inspirational theater will receive a free copy upon release. All submissions must be through email.

Email me at sales@customintros.com to participate.

Without further ado:

Richard

MINE!

I only wish. Looks good Richard.

I like the poster of CeRT on the right side. Does it say "Enjoy" under it?

I love the look of it already!! I can't believe that you're doing this to me though , after I JUST told my wife last night that I was going to purchase a HT intro for our future HT (we've got about 3 weeks until we close on the new house). She was all fired up for it when I showed her the demo on your website and then you go and pull this! And to top it all off, you're going to make us wait until the "format war" is over?

Seriously though, that teaser looks great. I guess i'll go ahead and buy the current Cert intro and just buy this one too when it comes out. Now I have to think of an excuse to spend this much money on 2 dvds (they're necessary expenses to me but my wife thinks otherwise).

Com'on 1st Cav...everyone knows you need at least two custome intros to have a true HT. Justing kidding....

But, I know I use a couple of different ones and rotate them in and out as people come over. Sometimes I'll play the retro portion of the bitstream intro and other times the Cert intro. I also have a matrix intro someone made for me that I rotate in too. It is nice to have several to choose from.

I can't wait to see what Bitstream has in store for us!!!!!

I can't wait. I have a custom CeRT one now, as well as a CustomHT one with an announcer. I rotate them for different audiences. Sometimes you want a quick opening to wow people, and CeRT does this well. I am sure the new one will be amazing as well!

volley, bit of a server hiccup this morning. It's up again, though.

Now, imagine walking into any store to buy your DVDs and because you've purchased movies from tha studio before, they give you a discount. Doesn't happen does it? It will.

We're going to institute "Collection Pricing" which means if you're an enhusiast now, it'll be easy to be an enthusiast later.

And to date, no one has any guesses as to who's theater was the inspiration. 1 free intro still up for grabs.

Ok, I've had it with not being able to come up with a theater name!!! I've gotta get me a CERT intro!!! And this next one looks like it's gonna be a must have!!!

That sure was a tease Richard. But do we really have to wait for the format war to take it's toll before we see this?

Yeah you're right Rbolster, having two intros is must for all true HT enthusiasts! (thats what i'm telling the other half)

Honestly, I don't care if I have to buy both, from what i've seen and read the Cert intro is top notch and one of best bangs for your buck. So I can only imagine that this one will be even better. I'm curious about your Matrix intro, it sounds like a pretty slick concept, any way I can take a peek?

Richard, will you be offering some kind of AVS pricing with the current Cert or new intro? I will be placing my order as soon as this information is disclosed.

The matrix intro was done by a fellow member. I don't have his member name or email address anymore. Basically, it was the matrix type text green against a black background that runs across the screen to say things like, turn off your cell phones etc. In the end, a green dots come raining down to form Boster Home Theater's Feature Presentation. The music is techno. It's a very nice intro.

What I love about bitstream as several of you mentioned is the prof. look of the intro. Some have asked if I have a contact at AMC theaters (HQ here in KC) or did someone in the "industry" do this for me. It's one of those items that the average person doesn't know is available to them and would never think of getting one for their HT set up. Besides the room, it brings the biggest wow....and is by far the best bang for the "wow factor" buck.

1st Cav, there is currently avsforum member pricing which is below retail. And the same will go for the new one. Go to www.customintros.com/avsforum and you'll get the avsforum member pricing.

The new intro is going to be done about the same time as the releases for Blu-ray and HD-DVD. It's not that we're waiting for a winner in the format war, it's just coincidental and we have to make sure to do everything to make sure we can be on the cutting edge. Skywalker Sound has us slated for the upcoming months so we'll be doing the audio at that point. Once we test and add on all the extras to the discs, we'll be ready. Oh just about the time for the launches of the upcoming formats.

Go ahead and enjoy CeRT now, and you'll have more to enjoy later. I look forward to making your intros.

Richard

I agree 110%, which is exactly why I have chosen Bitstream over the Cinemawise intro. I'd rather have "x" amount of time dedicated to the actual intro minus the games and other novelties that mean little to me. To top it all off, the Cert intro reminds me of a Pixar type animation....although the new one looks even more "Pixarish".

Well ladies and gentlemen, we have a winner. Acutally we have two! The winning entries were so close I decided to award two free intros.

The actual theater owner of this intro (the colors have been changed to protect the innocent) -

Alan Gouger

Oh yeah, he gets a free one too.

Congratulations to Bob (volley) and Steve (sure of hisname on here). I'll be cutting their DVD in half for them to share. Ha ha, I kid.

When it's ready, you guys will be the first to know.

Oh, now I get the color comment! Geesh, I'm not always with it!

Do we have a name to refer to this intro as? Maybe a name of the new character?

Good questions. The character's name is Tiko. But I won't say anything more about him, there are a few surprises.

At Bitstream, we have fun making intros that fit into the world of Home Theater and I'm sure we can all appreciate this one.

The best way to describe this intro is by asking a question.

Ever have a wonky remote that just doesn't want to work?

That's all I can say for now.

Because I don't want to ruin all the surprises about this character and animation that will be much better seeing it for the first time. Though since many people have asked for something, I figured I'd share as much as I could.

There are also some things we're still working on yet, but I will share more the closer we come to releasing it. And it seems people enjoyed the contest (I'm sure the winners did) so it was aimed at fun.

That teaser pic looks pretty sweet. But have you guys given up on the "Day the Earth Stood Still" retro one you gave us a glimpse of, awhile back? I really liked that idea.

2.35:1 vs. 16x9

Anyone else interested in a 2.35:1 intro? I switched into a Panasonic AE900 and it doesn't have a motorized zoom like my Sony did. So when I do a 2.35:1 movie I would have to get up an zoom the image after the intro. I have a 2.35:1 screen with masking system. It would be nice to set up my front end to play a 16x9 intro with 16x9 films and 2.35 intro with cinema wide films. Is this just me or is there interest with others?

Interesting. We've thought about it. Perhaps the 4th one we have in the works would fit perfectly. In fact I think it would.

Wouldn't it be cool if you could choose 1.78:1 or 2:35 to 1?

I'll make a note and see what we can do.

I have 2.35:1 and it is the recommended aspect ratio for films in theaters I design.

Another sneak peak for the 1950s intro.

Here he is! Earth will never be the same.

Also you might want to check another thread for CeRT. Rumor has it there's a special for AVS Forum members.
