Help! Problem with Onkyo DVD Changer

Hi

I have an Onkyo DVCP500 dvd changer (part of htib set I bought). Its out of warranty. I didnt realize it until it happened to me, but apparently this unit has a tendency to...

stop working.

The status light flashes on and off, but it wont do anything regardless of which button I press. I tried unplugging, using the remote (power on/off), hitting the manual buttons, etc.

Finally, I opened the case. I was able to get my DVDs out, except for one, which seems to be engaged by the unit, and I cant figure out how to release it. Help?

I would like to (1) get my disc back. And (2) see if I can get this unit working again (first problem since I bought it in Feb 2004) until I am ready to upgrade to HD-DVD or Blu-Ray.

Thanks for any suggestions...

Still need help!

Hello

Does anyone have experience with how to extract the DVD? Is there a release button or something? I opened the case but the DVD is locked in. Looks like whatever problem occurred just as it was about to start reading the disc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! I emailed Onkyo and they said since its out of warranty, they cant help me and I have to take it to a repair shop. Sigh.

Thanks
