Help - Control Motorola DCT2224 STB w/ new TV remote

Hi All,

Thanks for viewing my desperate plea for help. We just bought a Samsung LN-S3251D 32" LCD TV. We currently have digital cable and use a Motorola DCT2224 set top box, which of course has it's own remote. I'd like to use only one remote - the one that came with the TV, to control both the TV and the STB.

The manual says it should work no problem, just turn off the STB, press the STB button on the new tv remote, then press the 'set' button and enter code# 064. I should then be able to press the power button to turn the STB back on.

Well, that didn't work. If anyone has either the right code or any info whether this particular STB can or can't be controlled by this remote, please don't hesitate to let me know. Thanks in advance.

Best Regards.

ever find this out?

Did you ever get an answer to this? Could anyone else lend a hand? I have the exact STB and a new Samsung LCD and the code listed below does not work for me either.

Thanks!

Figured it out!

Use the code 041, instead of using the motorola code 046....i have a Motorola cable box and a samsung lcd tv and had the same problem. Googled around and found General Instruments as an alternate for motorola codes. Hope that helps.
