vip622 native pass through?
I am going to get E* with the vip622 installed this week. Does the vip622 have native pass through? Or am I going to have to swith the resolution back and forth when I watch HD and standard? I used to have to do this with my MOXI and I don't know if I can go back it was kind of irritating.
Thanks for any help. |

It does not have native passthrough, (although it is apparently something they are working on).
However I am not sure why you would need to switch back and forth. I have my 622 outputting to 1080i, and it formats all the programming just fine. SD looks great, and you can choose to have it pillarboxed or stretched. It will remember your setting independently for SD channels, so when you switch to HD it will still look correct. So to clarify, SD has its own setting (pillarboxed, stretched, zoomed etc) and it will save that for all SD channels. HD has its own settings (Regular and zoom I believe) and it will save that setting for all HD channels. So that way when you change channels you never have to change output resolution. Hope that helps. |

I have my ViP622 attached to a projector that can accept up to a 1080i signal but can only output up to 720p. I originally set the ViP622 to output HD in 720p, but the quality is significantly better on 1080i, in case anyone else wasn't sure which would be best with a 720p capable TV
