Comcast Cable Remote + Techview TV/DVD

I have just installed a Comcast DVR which came with a programmable remote. The list of codes provided does not include one for my Techview LTDR2100U TV/DVD combo. I have googled, as well as called a supplier of replacement remotes and found a code of 0847. However, the Comcast remote does not accept that code. Comcast can shed no light on this. If anyone has any clues as to how I might get my Comcast remote to control my TV (at least) functions, I would love to hear from you.

Thanks,
Les.

Did you see if the TV is compatible with a different Brand? I know that a while back I had a Zenith TV and the Universal remote I got did not have the code but I was able to use another manufacturer and it worked. Sometimes the TV is a Sony or Toshiba with someone elses name on it.

RE: Comcast Cable Remote + Techview TV/DVD

I too have a techview (disteck) tv and have been searching high and low for the IR code. Think it might be a lost cause. major bummer!

Techview is a panel manufacturer for Acer

I also have a Techview LCD TV. Fortunately, I haven't had any trouble with it but I feel your pain since evidently, they do not manufacture the Techview brand name any longer. I am wanting to sell mine but can't get much for it since it is considered an "off brand". Acer is the original manufacturer. Techview is based in Twiawan. Here is a link to Acer to find a distributor near you. Hopefully, this will be some help. I can't paste the link because I am new to this forum but I will try to spell is out for you.

Google Acer The Americas and then you should find the link.

Then click on "The Americas" if you are on Acer's US home page

Then search for a distributor in your area.

Similar issue - I just installed comcast digital cable connected to a Panasonic PV-DF274 combo TV. None of the Panasonic codes listed in the Comcast DVR-3 remote control manual work. Anybody know the correct TV codes?

This might need to be done piecemeal. Use TV/0250 for the TV device key and see if just the volume and the mute keys work (make sure volume lock is either on the TV or turned off). If they work, try VCR/0162 on the AUX device key, and see if the channel keys, numbers, power, and play keys work. If those work, there is a way to add the other keys, but it's a bit tedious. The biggest problem, though, is that there is no way to add the "TV/VCR" key to switch to that mode (the "DVD" key can be added). If the two tests above worked, and you still want to continue, even with the one big "TV/VCR" problem, I can tell you how to add some other keys.

BTW, I know this is an old post, but in case some one does a search and find this post, in regards to the original post about Techview, if 0847 is the device code that is supposed to work, TV/0154 should also work for most of the keys as well.
