Way beyond cool. I thought the TOS ships looked pretty good with modern special effects in the Enterprise mirror universe episodes. I look forward to this.

I think some of the 'fixes' are probably ok but really the addition of 'activity' to star base scenes smells a lot like Lucas' manipulations of the Star Wars original trilogy...

There's a thread already started about this in the HD-DVD forum here: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=716523

I think that they wont pull a Lucas on this one. TOS is already out on DVD in its original form. I would apriciate some cleaning up of the film stock. Also as stated the work that they did in Enterprise was great. I am going to give them the benifet of the doubt at this point.

Can't they just restore the old versions and leave it at that? There's a special appeal to the "cheesy/cheap factor" in these classics.

In fact that was used as a running joke in an episode of DS9 where the crew went into the past during the Trouble with Tribbles episode.

This re-imagining has got to stop!!!!

The remastered episodes of Star Trek TOS are fabulous and fully preserve the feel of the originals. Even the CGI works well.

Just seeing Dax in a TOS miniskirt was well-worth it though.
