KD-34XBR970 reliability

I saw RWetmore's reliability poll on the XBR960 and was surprised at the results. Thought it would be interesting to see a similar thread for the XBR970. My KD-34XBR970 is being delivered on Friday

If you have had problems with your XBR970, please detail them here along with any fixes you can offer. Thanks.

Good idea, though the results shouldn't be comparable since the 970 has only been out for a few months, and the 960 over 2 years.

bump...now that the 960 has been put out to pasture and the 970 has had more run time. 9 months later and still no problems

970 is more reliable than 960. 960 has more internal stress points that's why it always
malfunction.

Eight months and one cross-town move later... No major problems at all. Had a bit of a color purity problem in the corners a while back, but that seems to have mostly worked itself out without making any landing adjustments in the SM. I still may go in and do some more tweaking, but I haven't felt an urgent need to go into the service menu in months...
