SVS 25-31 is a BEAST

Well SVS shipped me a 25-31 and let me just say the thing is a hideous looking beast! For my application it was just WAY too big... I pictured the unit being much smaller - I was completely wrong. The thing looks like an oil barrel. Now no disrespect because upon hooking it up my apartment complex felt like it was going to shake from the very foundation the 6 story building was planted to. The thing is so strong pictures throughout my 800 sq foot pad magically left their homes and fell to the floor. The bass is incredible - crystal clear and strong... your chest feels like it's going to cave in from the pressure! So this is going back for a WAF approved SB-12-Plus in piano black
finish.

If I had a dedicated HTC room 500+ SQ ft I would consider this unit... otherwise stick witha PB10...

BTW - SVS customer service is easily the best online buying experience I have ever had - these guys made the return so easy I didn't even have to blink an eye on the exchange.

Hah. Well, the easiest way to get high-performance bass for a reasonable price is by allowing lots of cabinet space/efficiency in the design...as you noticed from its performance. Still, a big tube ain't everyone's cup o' tea.

I think the big tubes look sweet. Put that in a corner and people are like WOW ....then they hear it and their JAWS hit the floor.

I'm Sooooooooooooooooooooooooo happy I'm only 27 with no WAF yet!!!!

My wife let me have dual 20-39s in our family/theater room. Then she let me have dual PB12 +/2s.

She is so use to living with me that when the new JL arrived she commented that it looked "funny" because it was so small.

You thinking that your SVS is big is making many DIYers laugh. That is small!

Don't take that as an insult, just the truth.

And remember, when you want to add a second one, just start by showing your wife a picture of SteveCallas's monster. She will quickly agree to the baby SVS.

Here is a picture I took a couple of years ago in my livingroom. PB12plus, VTF-3MK1, and STF-2.

try laying your 25-31 on its side, and take off the base plate.
it becomes "smaller" that way.

Relatively speaking.

I have a 20-39 and it actually hides underneath a coffee table that I have in the corner of my room. It fits well and all my guests think I must have one of those tiny little subs that they can't find.

Flageborg, you really need to make a video of you walking up to this wall and plugging in your iPod to drive it all.

LOL, I was thinking more along the lines of putting a 13" TV on top of the SVS (in between the two center channels, of course).

That would be funny, too. I noticed the DVDs in the rack, but no TV. So how about a 13" B&W with aluminum foil wrapped rabbit ears.

Ooops. Looks like the white bar under the top Center is a pull-down screen.

There is a pull down screen hanging from the ceiling. But yet, that would be funny.

Yea. Just noticed that and edited my last post. Well winter is setting in, maybe Flageborg will take some of our advice and give us all a chuckle.
