Comcast Motorola DCT 6412 III - Panasonic Plasma Aspect Control
I have a Panasonic Plasma TH-42PX60U. I have the Motorola DCT 6412 III cable box. I was trying to program the motorola remote to work with the TV. I am not abe to get the Aspect functionality to work. Everything else (like Power/Volume/Inputs/Mute) works fine.
I have the cable box connected to the TV using HDMI. The cable box is set to output 1080I. 4:3 override is set to 480I. I am able to control aspect using the TV remote, but not using the motorola remote. Anybody have any ideas how to program this functionality? Thanks. |

Which remote do you have? Is it this one?
http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/How_to_...ing_the_Remote If it is, which device code are you using for the TV? |

I'm not sure if this will work, since the protocol for device TV/0250 is not exactly the same as the one I got this number from, but try a keymove with the code: 60481
1. Press the "TV" button at the top of the remote. 2. Press and hold the "Setup" button until the "TV" button blinks twice. 3. Type in the code 994. The "TV" button will blink twice. 4. Press (do not hold) the "Setup" button. 5. Type in the code 60481. 6. Press whatever button you want to for the function (ex: "HD Zoom" seems like a good one for this function). The "TV" button will blink twice if successful. BTW, if you are curious about where I got the number, you can read about JP1 cable for remotes made by UEI (like the Comcast remote) at this site: http://www.hifi-remote.com/jp1/index.shtml The URC-1067 remote is actually a JP1.2 remote, which requires a different cable, but the info there still applies. |

If you are still interested, I think I found what might work.
First just to test it: 1. set AUX to code 1490 2. press AUX 3. Press and hold the "Setup" button until the "AUX" button blinks twice. 4. Type in the code 994. The "AUX" button will blink twice. 5. Press (do not hold) the "Setup" button. 6. Type in the code 09761. 7. Press whatever button you want to for the function (ex: "HD Zoom"). The "AUX" button will blink twice if successful. Try the new key. If that works, AUX/1490 should work for most of the buttons, but it's a code for AUX, not TV, so you need to change the TV button to accept device codes for AUX: 1. Press and hold the "Setup" button until the LED blinks twice. 2. Type 992. The LED will blink twice. 3. Press "AUX" once 4. Press "TV" once Now you can set TV to code 1490: 1. Press "TV" 2. Press and hold the "Setup" button until the "TV" button blinks twice. 3. Type 1490. The "TV" button will blink twice. Now you can assign a button to aspect. 1. press "TV" 2. Press and hold the "Setup" button until the "TV" button blinks twice. 3. Type in the code 994. The "TV" button will blink twice. 4. Press (do not hold) the "Setup" button. 5. Type in the code 09761. 6. Press whatever button you want to for the function (ex: "HD Zoom"). The "TV" button will blink twice if successful. If this code works, you may also want to try: 15393 Component input 1 16417 Component input 2 26913 Aspect Zoom 43297 Aspect Full Last edited by Kupakai; 01-15-07 at 10:57 AM.. |

Thanks a lot!!
Worked like a charm. I also tried the discrete code for Zoom, but that did not work. Doesn't matter at all. Am really happy with this. Thanks. Quote:

HDMI 1 = 54561 HDMI 2 = 55585 If you are using a different setup code for the rest of the TV functions (ie TV/0250), after you program in the advanced codes, set the TV back to TV mode and that previous setup code and the advanced codes you programmed in should still be programmed. |
