Creating a movie intro

I just received my disk of slides from HDReady102 and am working on putting together a few intros. I am also trying to put a few movie trailers into it that I have downloaded from Apple. I am using Ulead VideoStudio 10. Once I insert the trailers into the intro I am creating and play it back, it plays back almost like it is skipping. Can anybody recommend a good program that I can use for creating the intros? Thanks for any input you can give.

Mike

Hi mig1868,

I used Ulead software about a year and a half ago and it seems to me that I had this same problem with the video. I seem to recall that it was a frames per second issue. Might be a good place to start looking. This was of course before HD trailers were out so, I am not sure how that complicates the problem.

HDReady102,

I am not really sure what the frame rate should be set at. Here is what it is set at right now.....
NTSC drop frame (29.97 fps)
MPEG files
24 bits, 720 x 480, 29.97 fps
Lower Field First
(DVD-NTSC), 16:9
Video data rate: Variable (Max. 8000 kbps)
LPCM Audio, 48000 Hz, Stereo

Is this ok or do you think it should be changed to something different?
Thanks, Mike

I had the same problem back when I started making videos, it's been a while, but the problem with the jerky playback may be that you need to switch from lower field first to upper field first. I learned from trial and error till I got it right. I also used some DVD RWs so I could try something then redo it instead of using up good nonrewritable DVD's. Hope this helps. Morgan

Just to let you know, I went out and got Roxio Media Creator 9 to do my intro's with. It works great and haven't had any problem with it at all with the above mentioned issue. Its a lot of fun putting something together with the pre-show slides and a few trailers. My wife and kids really thought they were so cool.
