Hi all. I was wondering if anybody out there could confirm if this adapter setup will work. I want to convert component output from my projector into and older satellite receiver which only has composite and s-video inputs (4-pin). I have a component to 7-pin s-video adapter (from my Nvidia graphics card package) and then I would use a 7-pin to 4 pin s-video adapter to connect to my satellite receiver.
so this equates to the following: component to 7 pin s-video to 4-pin-s-video. thanks for any help! Cheers, Eggman1964 |

Thanks for your advice (or lack thereof) and I plan to do so eventually, but as I have an SD satellite for now I want to make use of it until I upgrade to an HD receiver for my satellite. So the question remains and I would appreciate any help on this.

You cannot convert component to composite or s-video with 'a bunch of adaptors', you'd need an encoder. |

AKA, it would be cheaper and A LOT easier to get an HD sat receiver. Why buy an HDTV then refuse to feed it an HD signal? Makes zero sense whatsoever. That's like buying a sportscar then refusing to drive it over 5 miles per hour.

because there is simply NO point to having something and not using it for what it is made for! I have no idea why someone would spend time converting component to S-Video when they could simply buy/lease/get for free a new box with the right connections?
