vi622
I am getting dish in a couple of weeks and understand there are some issues with HDMI connects. This may have already been covered, but my question is how to properly hook up the 622 to reciever to TV.
Should I use HDMI and optical out from 622 to reciever - then HDMI out to tv? Thanks for any insight. I don't want to be buying high priced cables at the last minute. |

Don't buy high priced cables - buy any ole cable from a place that has a generous return policy.
The HDMI already carries audio, so 662 ->receiver ->TV should suffice. But if you want to use the TV without receiver you'll need a direct path from 622 to TV. |

There are problems with the 622 and HDMI - ask me. I have one and a new Sony 60A2000 and get nothing but blank. From the TV and DISH support. I am still working through AVSForum and DBSTalk.com trying to find any solutions.
BUT - this is not the case all the time, lots of people seem to be successful with this box and HDMI. AND, I am running through component and it really is great (e.g. Dexter on Show time HD). I can't imagine the image will be much better with HDMI. |
