finally found a theater seat i REALLY like

but it is not where i expected to find it. it is the lazyboy matinee. i have been looking at berkline 090's and they are nice but they are a touch wide for my theater but the bigger thing was the arms. the lazyboy arms get shorter toward the back so when you recline your elbows are not up in the air. with the berklines i liked them sitting up but when i reclined i felt like the arms were too high. then i noticed that my regular recliners at home have the backs of the arms drop down so that the distance from your butt to the armrest is constant as the chair lays back. my wife sat in them and immediately said "oh i really like this". they are firm and just the right size.

problem is they are $$$$$. is it possible to get a deal from someone on lazyboy? do any of the great stores that sell on avs have lazboy?

Can you tell me how much you found them for? I really like the look of these as well.

I've been looking for a 2 or 3 seater myself.

they are insane pricing if you ask me. list for 10 seats in 2 curved rows is 12000. the 090's were a little more than half that.

Unhappy

$12k for 10 seats?? That comes out to about $1,200 per seat! Boy they sure are proud of their furniture there. I guess I'll pass on these.

agreed. i wonder if anything else is close. i liked that:

- it was firm
- the backs of the arms rolled down so when you are reclined you don't have your elbows up in the air
- they were mid sized - a curved row of 5 is about 165"

I have these seats and am not too fond of them. I've got two recliners, the console table, and a chaise lounge chair in dark blue microfiber.

There is nothing really wrong with them (so I don't think others that like them are crazy or anything), but for me I just can't stay comfortable in them for long periods of time (I've had them about a year and tried them a lot so I know it isn't a 'new chair' thing).

I'm about 6'2" and 230lbs. I'd caution anyone of my size or bigger to be careful if getting these chairs, because I am feeling that maybe it is just my size that makes me not like them. I am just left feeling that maybe they are not substantial enough to support me with even softness/firmness everywhere.

Anyways, just my 2 cents.

In fact, I'm on the verge of ordering some Berklines and putting these things on CraigsList or something.

EliteHTS, as the name suggests, up there with the best in cinema seating. I don't have them yet, but definitely on the wish list. www.elitehts.com
