3250HD Problem

my inlaws bought a new panasonic plasma (PX600U) along with a samsung HTIB (i know, this sucks, but they are newbs). with this they also received a 1yr free HDTV w/ 3250HD STB.

the problem i'm having is that when i connect the 3250HD to the samsung HTIB using a dvi->HDMI cable the video flashes for a second and says this tv doesn't support HDCP and then the video goes completely off.

if i connect the 3250HD directly to the TV using the same cable it works fine.

if i connect another HDMI device to the samsung HTIB this also works fine.

so it seems the problem is ONLY when i connect the 3250HD STB -> samsung HTIB

now i've read the threads that state going to component is the easiest fix but unfortunately this isn't possible as the HTIB receiver is pretty barebones and only has *2* inputs, one being the old RGB and one being HDMI.

is there ANY WAY to fix this problem WITHOUT buying new equipment or are they screwed?

Run component (RGB) or DVI-->HDMI straight to the TV. Still run audio through the Samsung first using coax or optical.

ya i ended up doing that in the meantime... the cable provider up here (rogers) has a fix for the 3250HD being released this week which should resolve the HDCP issue.

thanks for replying
