Thumbs up The Sci-Fi channel...

...has done it again the Dresden Files kicks ass, and BSG looks like it's going to have ANOTHER awesome season judging by the premeire episode.

Well done sci fi

Sci-Fi in HD is coming later this year. DirecTV has already announced it will be carrying it when it is available as part of their new HD lineup.

I checked out 'The Dresden Files' last night. Afraid I have to disagree with the OP. I found it trite and overly familiar. Like a cross between 'Buffy' and 'Charmed' without the silly charm of the latter or the wit and strong performances of the former. Like 'Eureka', it seemed an uninspired effort and not nearly good enough to claim an hour a week of my time. But my biggest worry is that it's so weak that it will negatively affect the best show on TV that immediately follows it ('BSG'), and which certainly needs some ratings help. Not a good move by SciFi, I'm afraid.

dresden was boring and the lead actor mumbled way too much..along with his buddy Bob.

Oh, and it looks like they already effed up dresden by not airing the pilot first.

They shot a 2 hour pilot, which Scifi trimmed down to 1 hour, and they will air it as the 5th episode -- FIREFLY anybody? ugh..i won't be tuning in next week.

Well I never watched "buffy" or "charmed" I don't like mixing 90210 with my scifi or 30+ year olds feining (sp?) teen angst but to each his own.

What are you "afraid" of?

Sorry; I thought that was clear. A weak lead-in never helps the show that follows, and can actually hurt it since TV ratings are often all about momentum and inertia (at least in the 88% of non-DVR households that still dominate the Nielsens). 'Dresden' is destined for the trash heap, probably sooner rather than later. That's not helpful to 'BSG'.
