Having only played the SP on the first Halo, I'm kindof excited about this game, even though that video doesn't do a whole lot to impress me, I guess.

anybody else have trouble playing the mpg version? i got the megaupload version but media player didnt like it and crashed when i tried to play it and vlc plays it but it glitches constantly.

even the youtube version looks better than the build that i played

now the hud even looks like its reflecting off of the inside of your helmet, i never noticed that before.

You might want to download some WMP codecs if it isn't working. Though I haven't tested the file yet as I was at work when I posted the links.

I'm downloading the second Megadownload file and will report back how that one is.

Actually there are several AVS members that are already playing the beta (and have been playing since the Alpha) .

I've had that stupid music in my head all day. I even started whistling it at work. :P

Hopefully these movies finally settle the debate that this game "will be similar in graphics to halo2 cause thats what it looks like in the alpha pictures" lol. This game looks great, and will only get better.

Wasnt halo 2 for the original xbox? I can't see how anyone would think that there wouldn't be a big improvement going from halo 2 to halo 3...

the graphics look ok, but it's an alpha version, I hope better for the final release. I don't expect the graphics to be like the video or it will be a disappointment for me.

The song was in the soundtrack for Kill Bill Vol. 1, the original one, the one in the video is a mediocre mix.

the song is titled "twisted nerve" and comes from the original score for the 1968 film titled "Twisted Nerve"

i'm not sure who did that particular remix (not a fan) but i do like the Bart Blackstone remix (available on hanzo steel) which mixes the track with a little "thriller" action (micheal jackson)

This is a Beta Build video, it says that right on the video. So I'm not sure why you think this an Alpha build. There might be more polishing to do, but it seems like most of the lighting, shading and textures are in place. Maybe they still have work to do on the models, I don't know. But Beta is usually a sign of what the final project will look like, so I wouldn't expect big changes.

Judging from the Megaupload version, those graphics will not look bad at all in full 720p when we are playing the game. Sure, they won't be as good as Gears of War, but they are hardly "bad." Looks like a solid 7 or 8 graphics-wise so far to me.

Halo has always been a case of the sum being greater than the parts. They've never been the absolute best at any one aspect of gaming, but outstanding overall, with no weak spots.

Mediocre graphics is the least of my worries about H3.

It looks like fun. I have already pre ordered my copy. But, I can't help but be underwhelmed by the graphics. I can't imagine that what I just saw would impress anyone who has seen other games on 360 or PS3. I never expected it to wow me graphically though. If they are concentrating on making the gameplay fun then that is fine by me. Of course I would rather have good gameplay and jaw dropping visuals.

So do you guys think it will be released in Sept. as rumored or in Nov.? Regardless, I think what you see is what you get. It is improbable that a game that has been in development for so long would recieve an overhaul in a few short months.
