Very cool. I agree with JE3146
It's looking like manufacturers will just start looking for Univeral mechanisms. Makes the most sense really if we're talking about playback only needs. Recorders will be a another story ..they'll probably take until 2008 before we get word of potential choices. |

I'm confused.
It looks very much like they are talking about a drive, but the stories all say it is a chipset, true. They've listed 6x read speeds for both HD and BR. That is very fast for both formats. Looks like the drives shown are reference designs, so it shouldn't be at all difficult to put in production fast. I want that puppy!
