Got Mr & Mrs Smith HD DVD Today

ordered from e-dvd.pl on the 29th and they shipped it within a few hours so I got it in 2 business days from poland with the cheapest shipping option what a great site I will surely order from them in the future.

Ive only watched several scenes but from what I can tell the PQ is fantastic!

Audio options are regular DTS and DD 5.1 plus a DD 5.1 polish track.

There are polish subtitles but they arent forced.

This is definetly a keeper. Ive been waiting since January for this movie on BD and Fox keep delaying so screw them I bought this and Iam very happy.

A major advantage for HD DVD and that is why I favor this format.

Wow, that is pricey. Good to see it shipped so fast. Got to love HD DVD, you get blu-ray exclusives before they do! From Poland? Got to love it.

It was a bit pricey but I ordered a couple of hd dvds from buy.com (a company in the US) two weeks ago and paid $6 for shipping and havent recieved them yet.

I pay $8.50 shipping for an HD DVD and recieve it in 2 days from poland I mean come on!

Glad that you received it so fast. How's the audio/video quality of the movie?

Excellent so far. Ive only browsed through several chapters, I will watch the whole thing later on but so far its great.

As soon as you pop it in you can see the improvement and know this is HD. Which isnt the case with some recent disc where you have to look at the background and see if its detailed enough to be considered HD (40 year old virgin, Daylight and others).

What to say, other than I am very happy. The FOX release Mr. & Mrs. Smith had arrived from Poland. It is such a joke that a FOX release get out on HDDVD in Poland (Yes Europe for thoses who dont know the place, oh my) as a disp. company has the rights over here. One has to love HDDVD and the NONE regional coding. This must be a big slap in the face of FOX, the controlling company, Blu Ray exc. and so on oh my. The only good thing I can say about FOX is thanks for producing the movie is is very nice.

The PQ is +++ just like Underworld Ev. that I have bought in Spain (That ws the same story again right). Well it seams that Europe is getting some of the movies out and what a joy to see that the quality is just as good as the US releases.

And if you are affraid of the yello sticker you have seen on the box it is a sticker and it comes off whitout any problems.

Next to buy, Silent Hill and Underworld from Germany

too bad these foreign releases don't have truehd tracks...it's tough to go to lossy audio when you know there's something better out there.

Germany probably gets the HD DVD too, because Kinowelt distrubutes the movie here. The chances of getting the DC are good, since they also released it on DVD.
I rather wait for this one.
Kinowelt is the company that announced Saw Trilogy.

Sorry for my ignorance but why would a studio not release something like this in the USA if all (or most) of the leg work was already done? I sort of understand exclusive studios not wanting to produce in both formats because of the increased overhead for each format they support. Are exclusive studios only exclusive in the USA?

Exclusive studios are exclusive everywhere.
The only studios that are not exclusive are independent studios. I think every $, €, Ł counts, so they have no bias towards a format in the first place (usually).

The major reason why independent European studios by the majority are releasing movies on HD DVD is the lower price for producing HD DVDs in comparison to Blu-rays.

How did you know what to do? Is there an English translation on the site?

I just checked that inport site out and all I can say is WOW lol. Fantasic four on hd dvd and ghost rider on hd dvd that is friggen cool.
I'm really starting to think that hd dvd not having region coding is going to be a major thorn in blu ray's side! Me like's ... Me like's alot lol

Thanks buddy, great find. You just saved me some bucks, I was going to buy a cheap Bd player sometime this holiday season just to watch Fox titles. I can see now that I will be able to order most of them from Europe. HD DVD rocks.

unless you plan to watch this every week, 50bux shipped is way too much for any movie. I think 2,99 SD dvd will do for awhile, the transfer isn't half bad on it.

Let me wait for the FOX U.S release or wait it to get listed on Tony's site.
I may get the HD DVD version if it costs less than $32 including shipping.

Real HD DVD supporters buy movies, we don't rent like the most of the BD crew. I would rather spend almost $50 for an HD DVD than $700 for a BD player.
