Philips 30pw9100d trouble

Hey all,

I snagged one of these Philips CRTs (30pw9100d) from their official refurb program online about a year ago. I've been pretty happy with the set, even though it weighs a ton =)

Anyway, a few weeks ago, the thing dropped dead on me. It may have been when my apartment building lost power for a while during a storm, but I don't really remember since I was in super-deadline-crunch-mode at work. Now, having survived the deadline, I'd like to be able to use my set again...

I'm presented with a dark screen, and the power LED blinking error codes at me:
one long flash, followed by 3 short flashes, 34 short flashes and then 33 short flashes.
I haven't been able to turn up a service manual, so I have no idea what this means. Trying to power of the set, I hear the tube degauss, as if its turning on, but nothing happens.

I'm way past the 90 day manufacturer's warranty, and I hear dealing with Philips' customer service is a nightmare, not to mention other people having this set drop dead on them. So my question is this: is it worth trying to repair this thing or should I just cut my losses knowing that this thing is going to act up again if I do get it repaired? Time for a new TV?

Thanks!

Austin

SCroll down, there is a thread just for this set. Post the question there and you'll get more results.
