Magnavox HD grounding problem?

I was wondering if anyone in this forum has seen this problem:
I have a Magnavox HD 30" (I think, it's model#27MS5402) and I've got it hooked to my stereo,DVD and VHS. There's quite a few cables there.

From time to time I have to unplug everything, set the stupid thing on the ground and plug it into a different outlet. This is sounding like a grounding problem, but was wondering if anyone has seen anything like this. It's the only appliance in the house that does this.

And the reason you have to plug it into another outlet is what? It doesn't turn on when you hit the power? Am I missing something?
