Problem with a PS3 on a Sony TV ...
Sup all. I am at witts end. Sony tech support was no help at all. I just picked up a brand new 60GB PS3 ... I am hooking it up (via component video - Sony cable) to a 32" Sony tube TV (KV-32FS13). I also have a Tivo and cable box hooked up as well. There is a RF wire going to the tv. The SVHS and Audio L & R are also hooked up to the TV from the Tivo. I have all the above hooked up to a power strip.
Here is the problem ... I hooked my PS3 up to the TV -- wow, a buzzing coming from the tv speakers. I then moved the unit to a old 27" RCA tube tv. Using standard AV cable -- no buzzing sound. Any ideas what might be causing the buzzing? I had a XBOX 360 hooked up the same way, same input, no buzzing. I also have a 2.4ghz wireless B bridge hooked up to the tivo (it's at the top of my cabinet -- where as my PS3 is at the very bottom). There is also a Dlink router (wireless for Fios) about 10 feet away. That's it. Thank you all for your time .... |

that's an easy one, you have a ground loop problem. the only way to get around it is to
a. disconnect the rf (cable tv) plug from your tv while you are playing your ps3. b. hook up the ps3 thru hdmi and the buzz will go away (what i did) c. get a 3prong to 2 prong adapter from radio shack and hook up the ps3 plug to that (not recommended) google ground loop and read up on it, but those 3 things i mentioned will get you by in the mean time. |
