Zoom and WideZoom the same on 34xbr960?

Hi, I have been tweaking in the service menu of my xbr960 since day one. At some point, when watching 480i material I noticed that Zoom mode and WideZoom mode were identical. The thing is, I remember a time when this was not the case.

I have tried various settings, but I can't find any service menu setting that only pertains to the WideZoom mode. Has anyone had this same problem? Any help would be appreciated as always. Thanks, CK

Sonys wide zoom i now believe sucks imo. Unless you like distortion and subtitles, text, unreadable. Dont know about the tubes if they have overscan adjustments, but the rear's have normal, plus+1 settings to fill the picture more. Another point like +2 would eliminate the need for wide zoom completely and have less loss than wide zoom by far.
