KV32HS420 Red color disappears in 480p!!
Please help! The TV works fine in 480i and 480i wide, but as soon as I change the resolution on my HD cable box to 720p or 1080i the red color vanishes. The picture looks great, but it's all greenish. Same thing goes for the upscaling DVD player. When I change it to Progressive mode, the red is gone. I tested the cables and tried different inputs...no use. Any ideas?
I am using: TV: Sony KV32HS420 CABLE BOX: SA EXPLORER 4200HD connected from DVI to HDMI DVD PLAYER: Philips DVP5982-37 connected to component |

A few questions:
Do you have ANY other cables connected between your stb and 420 or between the DVD player and 420? If yes, then ignore the next questions. Is your DVD player capable of upscaling via component? Most players less than a few years old are not. Have you tried your cable stb on component? Have you made any adjustments in the service menu? Are you the original owner? If this was just happening on component inputs, then I would suspect a cable problem. Since it is happening on both component inputs and the digital input then either something is broken or a service menu item that only effects the HD resolutions is misadjusted.
