Fixing KV-30HS420 Overscan
I recently hooked up a 1080I DVD player via HDMi (video input 7) to my KV-30HS420 and I've noticed overscan whenever I play a dvd.
I've taken a look at the service menu but I really have no idea what I'm doing. I haven't changed any settings and I've been using the excel spread sheet posted in the sonly service code thread to help understand the various options. I tired looking for a service manual but it looks like tvtinker is AWOL. So would any one have some helpful guidance on which options should I focus on? Any help would be absolutely great! |

I've heard that one of the MID groups can be used to alter the HDMI parameters alone without messing with the other inputs. I haven't noticed any overscreening from my other inputs other then the HDMI.
And I'm interested in learning how this works. I have a lot of experience with electronics and home appliances, however I've never gone into the service menu of a tv before. It alos looks like you can still play around with the values as long as you don't save them before leaving the service menu. I just don't know what does what. Any resources would be very much apprenticed. |
