Fixing KV-30HS420 Overscan

I recently hooked up a 1080I DVD player via HDMi (video input 7) to my KV-30HS420 and I've noticed overscan whenever I play a dvd.

I've taken a look at the service menu but I really have no idea what I'm doing. I haven't changed any settings and I've been using the excel spread sheet posted in the sonly service code thread to help understand the various options. I tired looking for a service manual but it looks like tvtinker is AWOL.

So would any one have some helpful guidance on which options should I focus on?

Any help would be absolutely great!

Press the 2 button until you see a "VPOS" parameter. That's the beginning of the geometry settings. But, honestly, if you don't know what you're doing at all, I'd stay away from it altogether.

I've heard that one of the MID groups can be used to alter the HDMI parameters alone without messing with the other inputs. I haven't noticed any overscreening from my other inputs other then the HDMI.

And I'm interested in learning how this works. I have a lot of experience with electronics and home appliances, however I've never gone into the service menu of a tv before. It alos looks like you can still play around with the values as long as you don't save them before leaving the service menu. I just don't know what does what. Any resources would be very much apprenticed.

I played around with the Mid1 and Mid 2 settings and it looks like the overscanning is affecting my other Hd inputs (5 &6) as well as 7. However when I try to alter the parameters for one input, the other seem a little off.

Any ideas?

1080i are in the MID3 group. Use the Avia or DE dvd and select the overscan tests.
Reajust the picture and center it.
Don't use the VPOS, it is general and it will mess all the position of any inputs and 480i,480p, etc,...
