Sony service codes explained?

I've hunted around a bit, downloaded the spreadsheet with all the codes and default values and ranges but I seem to be having a hard time finding definitions as to what each code effects.

Obviously ones labeled like vpos vsiz etc are no brainers but that makes up only a fraction of them. Is there a definative list anywhere?
