Name your price on a Sony KD-34XBR970 floor model

Came back from CC tonight and I saw the only Sony KD-34XBR970 floor model left in town. The Supervisor at the store priced it at $449. But he said if I come back tomorrow I can talk to the store manager and name my price. What would be a fair price?

Thanks

Nooooo, offer 349.99 which is a little more than 20% lower than their price. It's not an unreasonable offer and it allows you to meet in the middle at a lower price (roughly 400, give or take). Plus, who knows, maybe you'll get lucky and they will say "deal." Man, wish I could get a deal like that.

Try for $325-350. Hopefully the manager realizes he will never sell that boat anchor, so you may have a decent chance.. Oh yeah, be polite.

Thanks for the replies. The Cons about this set is that it is a floor model. The set was running a Pbs special in HD and it looked good. I know the set probably stays on from 10 to 10 seven days a week. The Pros would be that it is a Sony Xbr and that it comes with 2 years of Mfg. Warranty included.I believe I'll open with a $350 offer and then go from there.

At $400 or less I would jump it, assuming the picture quality is still good.

Make sure you look at the back label for the month and year of manufacture. If it's more than a year old, I'd think twice about buying it.

Also hit the "display" button on the remote to check out how straight the horizontal lines are, keeping in mind that you are pretty much stuck with however straight they are now (no service menu fix).

Check the date like au revoir said. If it seems ok, I would definitely pay $400+ for it.
