Toshiba service mode codes

I have a service manual for my CN27G95 color TV. I can get into the service mode and design mode alright, but the manual doesn't go into any detail on what most of the codes do. I've recorded all the current settings, so I'm not too worried about screwing things up.
It also doesn't appear possible to make any convergence adjustments, either by yoke magnets or via service menu (pressing '7' in service mode, as on many Toshiba TV's, does nothing). Am I really stuck with less than perfect alignment?

Possibly, on my last Toshiba(a 26HF84 HDTV), the Service menu was very small and sparse. I did end up with a fantastic picture though!

fugiot,

How old is that model? I can't find it in last 3-4 years. It doesn't start with 'CN', does it?

If it is no digital video conversion internally, then focus, screen, purity, and static/ dynamic convergence are all done mechanically in the rear.

Some old CRTs have bad edge focus that can't be adjusted --- needs new CRT.

Any luck?

A new model may not be any better. I bought a 20" Toshiba CRT about a year ago. The screen tilt was off by about 1/2 an inch.

Granted, it was a low-end model, but there was not even a way to rotate the screen, either in the user menu or in the service menu.

I found that to be pretty unbelievable, and returned the set the same day I bought it.

So if these TV's don't even have tilt adjustment, you can pretty much forget about color convergence, I would think.

Yeah. Go back in time 10 years, b4 digital TVs.
That rotation is accomplished by removing back and loosening yoke and rotating it.
Should be authorized/trained to do this, though. Do you like shocks?

LOL!

Did you have to feed the people inside the TV as well?

This TV is an older one and was made by Toshiba. The service menu codes posted in this forum are not compatible, because the newer ones are made by a different manufacturer. Use this service menu (learned from the 34HF84):

Press mute two times. Then press the menu button at the front of the TV for about three seconds.

It's made by a different manufacturer and is no longer made by Toshiba. That's the explanation.
