for what it's worth, big ten network games are now appearing in my guide on channels 218, 219, and 221.

Test channels include 11 new National channels and 8 new RSNs beyond those previously announced.

Comedy Central is the one that I'm most thrilled to see show up.

The channel designations have been on my APG for at least 30-32 hours now, if not longer, but the channel descriptions have been up for about 24-27 hours.

Still no sign of 220 yet though.

Great Info.
Are there HD plans for the RSN overflow channels, such as FSNBA+, MASN2, etc. that carry HD events?

It's good to see you again Bschneider!!

I'm also glad to see the list which has some really GREAT channels on it, and some that aren't (there appears to be a LOT of candidates for upconverting)... but I'm disappointed to not see a CW HD-DNS channel on there... hopefully that will come soon...

I assume many of those are just 'place holders' for future channels? Many of those channels are not yet uplinked for distribution.

If MSG-HD, FSNNY-HD, YES-HD and SNY-HD are all on a CONUS transponder I will be elated. If they remain on a spotbeam I will not be.

These are all CONUS transponders. But keep in mind that being in test mode doesn't guarantee carriage short term. It's a good sign, but I would wait to make sure that it actually lights up before getting my hopes up too high.

MHD is a channel with material from all MTV properties. MTV and VH1 are new mentions for HD channels (presumably simulcast channels)

Can someone explain the engineering mode?

Is it like special channels that you, as a generic HD customer, can access with a special code?
Or is it something restricted to D* testing facilities?

Also, what's on these feeds? Are they just HD upconverts of the SD feed or are they true HD feeds?
(ie. when you tune into MTV HD, The Hills comes on as HD)

Oh, and, putting two and two together:
The Daily Show and The Colbert Report just went on break for two weeks
Comedy Central got put up on the engineering feeds

HD upgrade, anyone?
[/wishful thinking]

Bschneider,

I'll tell you this a million times...Thanks so much for the info!!! So glad you are back on here. Many of us have waited years for this day (whenever it hits) and just like the last new HD channels that were last added...you told us when it was going to happen. You rock!
