Flat Panel Height in Bedroom

I am sure this has been discussed before but I couldn't find it...so please excuse me if this is redundant.

I am sure this varies with different applications, but I'd like to see what height many of you have installed your bedroom wall mount flat panels. A dimension to the center of the screen would probably be best.

Please take the time to measure your application and post it here for me and others.

Thank you for your help and time.

The center of the TV when mounted should be at or close to eye level. Its really the persons preference but I usually recommend this to all my customers.

But eye level when you are in bed is pretty low on the wall, so I am not sure I understand.

lol, sorry but there isnt a science to having a TV in a bedroom.

Set the height of your plasma to where you can see it period. if you see your spouses feet or your dog at the end of the bed instead of the bottom of your TV its too low.

Just Raise it, how hard can that be?

If you mattress is on the floor maybe you should get a real bed before you worry about the TV level

Sorry to have bothered you--I was just trying to get opinions from others--I don't need your BS. It matters to me....I want to get it right the first time....so is it so wrong to ask for input. I'll bet there are cases when someone has installed it too high or too low. I just want advice--isn't that what this is for??

I too think that your eyes should hit the center of the screen. The trick is that you will probably not be lying flat on the bed when watching TV right? Your head will be propped up or you may even be sitting up in the bed. If your head is propped up you will be looking up at an angle.

So what I would suggest to you is to use a laser pointer or small flashlight to mark the position on the wall while you are in whatever position you will most likely be in when watching TV in bed. Simply hold the pointing device on the side of your head lined up with your eyes and then have someone else mark the wall. Easy Otherwise it is hard to answer your question because everyone's bed and sitting position is different.

Make sure that you take into account the footboard and any other objects between the end of the bed and the TV. As mentioned you want the TV high enough so that these are not in your line of sight.

Laters,
Jeff

EQ...thanks for your response. I also have a tilt mount, so at any height, I will tilt the paned to get it fairly close to perpendicular to our eyes.

Thanks again!!
