Problem with video signal between receiver and display - please help!

I came home today and turned on my TV, and all I got was a series of diaganoal scrambled lines of various colors across my screen (see picture links below). I have never seen this before. My setup is a Denon receiver, Denon DVD player, Comcast HD DVR, and HP/Panasonic 42" Plasma. I have had this setup for 2 years without problem. I get the scrambled lines with both the Comcast TV and DVD as video inputs. Audio is just fine. And the TV itself as fine, as I can run the TV setup menu and see the configuration menu just fine. So my guess is the problem is:
1) the HDMI cable between the receiver and the TV
2) the HDMI output port on the receiver
3) the HDMI input port on the TV

anybody seen this before? anybody have any thoughts as to the problem? all help is appreciated.
