Here are a few pics of my PRO-110FD "thanks to John from Axxis Audio, AVS Sponsor at bottom of page"", will be hanging on the wall in a few days using a Sanus flat wall mount, at the moment the PDP is on my cabinet where the center channel speaker will be placed, PDP will be 3" above center channel speaker when hung on wall at center of black box painted behind the PDP, all I can say in regards to this PDP is WOW, PURE mode is worth it to get an Elite, the colors and skin tones are spot on, and no ISF calibration yet, few more months till that happens for me, will let the set break in for a while, these pics are from Planet Earth Blu Ray on my PS3, enjoy,

semi-pro, I used a Nikon D200 with a Nikon 17-55/ 2.8 lens on a tripod in Manual mode, with camera timer turned on "set at 10 sec", no finger clicking the shutter button as to not shake the camera, also have remote shutter release but did not use it, the 10 sec timer was just fine, no one was rushing me

i just bought the 5010fd kuro and i hope it looks close to that. from the reviews i have read the 5010 is very close but has less controls for calibration. if it looks nearly that good then isf wont even be a factor for me.
did i mention, WWWWWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWW.

cybertec - would you mind sharing your manual settings with the D200? I have a D50 with the 18-200vr Nikkor (nowhere near as crisp as a 17-55 I know) - but I can't seem to get decent results. Did you use a SB-800 on or off camera and if so - did you bounce it?
Fabulous pics btw - I've always lusted after the 17-55. Last edited by BillKen; 10-09-07 at 04:50 PM.. |

First you MUST use a tripod and put the camera on it's timer, no finger pressing the shutter button, also you MUST use manual mode at 5.6 or 6.3 any higher and it starts losing detail do to lack of light, not A P or S, place camera where you think you will be taking the pictures from, look through the viewfinder, make sure you are in M mode, when you look through the finder you will see the compensation light bar at the bottom, either the lines will be to the left going towards the + sighn or towards the - sighn to the right side, when you first press the shutter button so the camera locks on the subject look at the lines, if they are towards the left side means you must adjust compensation with the thumb bar, I am sure you know how to use your camera by now, when I take the picture I make sure there is one bar going towards the + sighn, which gives you a bit more exposure, once you have all that set press the shutter button and take your hands OFF the camera "as to avoid camera shake", once picture is taken you will see it on the LCD screen, if two dark or to bright adjust accordingly.

9 to 10 feet, and YES you can see a difference from a 1080p to 720p PDP, 1920x1080 gives you a sharper more vibrant and detailed picture, more pixels on the same size screen will do that. Of course you will have your naysayers, but I see it otherwise, but that's just me, to each his own.
