Need to cover French Doors

I want to put in an automatic drop curtain that will come down covering my french doors when I start a movie. Anyone used such a device?

That would be a fairly large curtain, you would need a large space above the doors to store the curtain. Is there not room on the sides for two half curtains?

If you want to use a curtain, you should probably think of drawing them from the sides in a conventional manner with a motorized rod. If you want something to come down from the top, you should probably use a shade such as a roller shade or a honeycomb. Both can be motorized and be opaque.

So where can I get a motorized rod? I like that idea.

The best way is through a local window covering dealer.

The best motorized rod is the BTX 5060. Probably around $1200 for the rod.
A stop down is the BTX Motordrape at around $700.
Also, the Makita is around the same price.

The BTX Motordrape can also be a DIY but it's tricky to install.

Be sure you know how you're going to handle the interface to your central remote if you have one, as each is different. If you're just going to use a supplied hand sender, there's not much of an issue.
