stand question.

I'm looking to add a stand to my home theater. I have a projector and currently have my components in an audio rack in the corner, but it's squeezing my speaker on that side and my sub placement is suffering due to it, so I'm looking to make better use of my space.

My components include my receiver, Xbox 360, ps3, Wii, and my DirectTV satellite box.

I was looking at some of the TV stands, the kinda wide and short ones with the intentions of placing my center speaker (Rocket Bigfoot) on top and my components on the shelves underneath. Can't be too tall or that large center speaker will interfere with the image.

I guess my question is are there other options out there besides the TV stands? Anyone have any success with other shelving units that aren't sold as TV stands?

I'm looking to spend under $300.
